I've been growing heirloom seeds from Seedsavers and Baker Creek for a few years now and have learned a lot about how to garden from the seed up. I have selected a few varieties that do well in Pittsburgh's climate and I have decided to start selling a side crop of seedlings I have started myself using Organic gardening practices right here in Lawrenceville. I am open for any sort of gardening que

stions from the basics to planning an urban garden in it's entirety. I hope this page can be a resource for like minded people in our area and I will continue to share links that I find useful in Gardening and of course Cooking what I grow. Who I Am and Why I Grow?

I have an insatiable interest in growing my own food and finding ways to do so using mother nature at her best. My gardening style uses as few inputs as possible, minimizes unnecessary maintenance, and disturbs the natural environment as little as possible. I specialize in urban gardening, no dig practices, seasonal extension, heirloom growing from seed, and saving seed. I also have a growing interest in intensive market gardening. I teach gardening classes in Pittsburgh and am available to help facilitate workshops and lead discussions. Please reach out to me if you or your organization has any interest in growing plants from seed, setting up a new garden, or need help to troubleshoot your current setup or practices.

I've been growing heirloom seedlings for nearly a decade and have learned a lot about how to garden from the seed up. I aspire to help anyone looking to grow their own food and create their own oasis in the city. I am available and happy to help with any garden inquiries--from the very basics, to planning an entire urban garden. I always love to learn more about gardening and food production and delight in researching new techniques and practices. I hope to be a resource for like minded people in our area and I will continue to share links that I find useful in gardening and of course cooking what I grow. I get a bit over-zealous with my seedlings in the spring so there is always a chance I will have a few plants to share/sell early in the season as well as plant divisions and volunteers that need homes later in the season. I’d love to see a community of like minded people come together connected through a common purpose of sharing their passion of horticulture and gardening.
