Painting is part of the Zooโs training and enrichment program and helps enage the animalsโ sense of touch, smell, and sight. Using nontoxic colors and canvases, our wild artists-in-residence can create one-of-a-kind masterpieces and stunning pieces of art. With a little assistance from their keepers, each animal develops their own unique way of expressing themselves. ๐จ๐ผ๏ธ
August is National Catfish month. Their name comes from their whiskers, which are sensory organs that help them taste and smell. Found on every continent except Antarctica, they thrive in our local waters and in our Aquarium, such as these South American species โ the ripsaw and the photobombing redtail.
