PRINCIPLES OF DOG TRAINING 1 and 2
with Michael Ellis
New Lower Prices with much more content!

WAS $1,000.00 - NOW $750.00

We have recently lowered the price and added a good deal of additional content to our two courses that we produced with Michael Ellis titled PRINCIPLES OF DOG TRAINING 1 and PRINCIPLES OF DOG TRAINING 2.

We began offering these courses in 2015, selling them as self-study or interactive courses. We are no longer offering interactive courses.

We have recently expanded the self-study course to include 284 past student videos in PODT 1 and 120 past student videos in PODT 2. Our older self-study courses did not have any past student videos.

PODT1 has 187 instructional videos with Michael Ellis and his dogs. These videos total 16 hours of training.

PODT2 has 179 instructional videos with Michael Ellis and his dogs. These videos total 10 hours of instruction.

It has always been our feeling that new students learn a great deal by watching other "new trainers working with an untrained dog”. We all make the same mistakes when we learn how to train new behaviors. The past student videos and feedback in both of these courses are well-organized and will increase your understanding of the hurdles you will face when moving through the modules and segments of our course.

The price of both PODT1 and PODT2 self study courses has been lowered from $1,000.00 to $750.00.

When students finish taking these courses, they will be issued a Leerburg Certificate of Completion for their training records.

THE OFFICIAL VRC MOBILE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC HAS BEEN DELIVERED!

This is a dream come true. We have been wanting to provide these services for years and thanks to our "Fairy Dogfather" who donated the funds to have this brand new mobile clinic built specifically for us, we can now service the dogs and cats of Assumption Parish.

Our hope is to be able to provide FREE spaying/neutering to all of the dogs and cats in Assumption Parish. And if we reach our dream of altering every dog and cat in the parish, we will then offer these services to another rural parish in need.

As I'm sure you can imagine, with these smaller and rural areas, it is near impossible for people to get their companion animals to a vet let alone be able to afford medical help. Our dream is to raise donations that will fund this program so that we can offer FREE services to those families that need the help.

Once we are able to staff the mobile clinic, we will then start with raising donations and get this program ON THE ROAD! Our hope is to be able to start by the first day of spring (symbolically speaking)

And words cannot thank our "Fairy Dogfather" enough. He is truly a lifesaver to so many animals in need. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

COMING SOON TO A PARISH NEAR YOU :)

We shared this not too long ago but it is worth sharing again. We have talked a lot about Dog Bite Prevention this week but this part doesn't get talked about enough.

Dog fights happen A LOT - probably more often than some want to admit. These fights can happen in public, at doggie daycare (also doggie gyms), and even within your own household and back yard. Dog fights can start for any number of reasons which we have already talked about this week. So today we address what to do when a dog fight happens.

1- Do not stick your hand in the middle of the fight - especially to grab the collar of one of the offending dogs. This very often causes the dog to redirect their aggression to you.
2- It is best to have more than one person to separate the fighting dogs. If you are alone you will need a leash/rope/bedsheet or something along those lines to aid in the separation.
3- When you make the decision to separate, grab the dog by their hind legs and turn in a circle then lead the dog into another room or kennel.
4- Alternative tools to consider depending on your situation include using a water hose, stun gun, or pepper spray to break up the fight. (All tools should be used appropriately - Do Not Abuse the power these tools give you as the dog may redirect their aggression on you.)
