Living in a multi dog household it's important to me to give each dog one on one time.
I try to do it once a week with each dog. I know some people try to do it every day.
For some of my clients this is a new and sometimes even scary idea because the dogs are always together but we often start to practice this in some way right at the start of lessons.

Last night our Loon, our Pyr mix had a private date at the park which she seemed to really enjoy.

Training should not be considered a luxury but should be a key component of any good animal-care program. Behavior management, which includes training and enrichment, ought to be a cornerstone of good animal care alongside veterinary care, nutrition, a proper environment, and appropriate social structure. In many animal-care programs training is an afterthought, something to do if there is time. Elevating the importance of training in the minds of the public and in the minds of animal-care professionals is one of my ongoing life missions.

Functional assessment requires observation skills that client's can quickly develop. The following key questions will help focus their observations on the ABCs (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence):

-What does the problem look like in terms of actual behavior, ie, what do you see?

-Under what conditions does your animal do this behavior, ie, what events predict it?

-What does your animal get, or get away from, by emitting this behavior?

-Under what conditions does your animal not do this behavior, ie., when is it successful?

-What do you want the animal to do instead?

Real fences make good neighbors, this includes with wildlife.

An "invisible fence" can't keep other animals out of your yard but a physical fence (mostly) can.

Whether it's a fox, a skunk, a raccoon or even a stray dog a physical fence can greatly reduce the chances of a wildlife encounter with your dog but an "invisible fence" can't. This means the chances of chasing wildlife and getting lost or hit by a car, sprayed by a skunk or quilled by a porcupine are greatly reduced with a physical fence. An invisible fence can't do that because it is not a physical barrier and not an actual fence.

I've always had dogs enjoy their fenced in backyard and then a long came Benny. 🤣

He's our Houdini that will push fencing, dig out.
What does he want to do?
Come over to us of course. Whether we are gardening, with the chickens or anyplace else, Benny wants to be where the people are.
Benny doesn't see a barrier, he sees a fun game. I might be 3 feet away but he will wiggle out as if to just come say, "Hello!" He loves a good puzzle. The other dogs just watch him work his magic.

In case you also have a Benny, I have found these push in the ground fence pieces work wonders.

If a dog is trying to get out of their yard it may be time to rethink why they are escaping. Have they gotten exercise? Enrichment? Are there needs being met? Some dogs are a Benny but there are many other reasons a dog may escape a fenced in yard.
