This young pup is up at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 😍😍😍

Buddy is a 10 month old beagle who is a typical puppy.

He will need to be neutered prior to adoption and he’s quite the silly boy.
He was too much for his elderly owner and was surrendered through no fault of his own .

Hunter is not at the rescue, but we will assist in getting him here and up to date on shots if anyone is willing to adopt!

Meet Hunter! He’s a roughly 3-4 year old bluetick beagle who is neutered but does need updating for his shots.

As a young hound, he’s quite active and loves his humans. He’s housebroken and good with other dogs. It does sound like he has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home without young children.

Hunter needs a home where he can get a lot of love and where he has patient humans that will give him the life he deserves!

Cliff is celebrating his one year post-diagnosis for his bladder cancer today by visiting the dogtor, who was happy to report that the bladder tumor has remained stable since his last ultrasound. The stomach tumors have grown, but are in “good” areas, meaning that nothing is being blocked. No new metastases are present, and his urine does show an increase in red/white blood cells and bacteria so we’re switching to a different antibiotic. The soft tissue sarcoma is growing but not causing problems. All-in-all, it’s the best news we could expect to hear, and this love walrus will be spending some more time with us yet ❤️🐾🐾

Good Lord I love this walrus. Cliffy is heading to the vet tomorrow so we can get an update on his cancer progression. His symptoms seem to be pretty stable, but we’ll see what the imaging results are!

Hopper’s celebrating his two year puppaversary in his furever home in style. He and his big brother, Benny, thought the best way to start the festivities was to welcome their new tiny human into the family.

Isaac needs a home!

This handsome man is a 1.5 year old Beagle/JRT mix. He has the sweetest temperament and loves everyone that he meets. He is all beagle with short little legs and a nubby tail. He is crate trained and said to be house trained, he also does well on leash. He enjoys going for walks and car rides. He is always wiggling around, loving to play and spend time with you. He has previous lived with other dogs and is doing very well with all other dogs here at the shelter. He does not seem to mind cats and we believe he would do well with kids. He is such a good boy, he deserves the best family!

So, Carlos hurt his foot somehow over the weekend (possibly an interdigital cyst, but as it’s healing it looks like it might be more of his pad that’s injured). Part of the treatment the vet prescribed was to soak his foot, and this is how Carlos prefers his epsom salt baths.

I’ve never seen a dog just sit down in the water like this! He looks more miserable than he actually was, as he didn’t want to get up when it was time 😂

Front to back: Luna, Atticus, Mocha and Molly. Mocha is the only one who isn’t a BHRH alumnus, but that doesn’t make a difference to this pack! Always wonderful to see how happy our adoptees are in their furever homes!

2023 is finally coming to a close! The year started off so terribly—losing Cooper suddenly has been so devastating, and Cliff being diagnosed with TCC a couple weeks after that was certainly not the way I wanted to start it off! Ultimately, some amazing things happened though too and I’m just so happy that Cliff will still be here as we head into 2024, however unexpected that may be. The highlight of my year will always be our angel from Vermont, Shane Comings, who adopted both Luna and Atticus. Being able to save two dogs from euthanasia and watching them flourish in their forever home has been amazing. Here’s to hoping 2024 is a bit less of a roller coaster!

Well, Cliff woke up this morning and chose to have just an amazing day. He’s been super playful and his appetite is better than it has been in almost a year. Not sure where it’s all coming from, but I’m glad he’s doing better!
