Thank you to all that have served! Human and Animal! During the Vietnam War, a large amount of dogs were sent over to help with the war effort:

Number of dogs: Around 4,234 dogs were deployed to Vietnam.

Estimated number of lives saved: The dogs are estimated to have saved over 10,000 lives.

What happened to the dogs after the war: When the war ended, the dogs were left behind or euthanized because they were classified as excess equipment. Some were given to the Vietnamese army.

Legislation to change the rules: In 1992, President Bill Clinton signed legislation that ensured military dogs are treated like veterans.

What an amazing Dark Paws Fest! We’re excited to announce our winners:

Sophia lassoed our hearts with her western style and took home the top prize! 🤠Thanks for bringing the cowgirl spirit, Sophia!

A big shoutout to Tabi for her incredible pumpkin design, earning her the title of Top Pumpkin Artist! Her creativity truly stole the show.

We’re excited to see you and your pups at Dark Paws Fest tomorrow, October 26th, from 11 am to 3 pm! Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of the day:

Parking
If our main parking lot is full, please park on the grass area on the north side of our building.

Costume Contest
Sign up in the lobby if you’d like to enter our costume contest! We’ll capture some amazing photos for you and your pet in costume with ! Voting will take place throughout the weekend, and winners will be announced on Monday! Prizes include:

$30 Gift Card
$100 Gift Card
$100 Top Dog Gift Card
$25 Gift Card
One free training session with
ACTIVITIES:
-Pawtrait Love Photography – Get a complimentary photo with your pet (first one’s on us!). If you’d like more photos, you can purchase additional images directly from Pawtrait Love.
-Tortilla Food Truck – Lunch is on us!
-Scavenger Hunt on the north side of the property.
-Buckeye Game – Watch the game here!
-Columbus Dog Connection is hosting “Adopt an Envelope,” their biggest fundraiser and a fantastic way to support local pets.
-Everyone will take home a Boujee Bites goodie for their pup!

Play Areas
Our indoor and outdoor play yards are open for all our furry guests to enjoy.

Only 4 days away from Dark Paws Fest and we’re excited to announce The Wailin’ Whalens will be rocking the party with live music! They’ll be jamming out from 12p-2p!

Whether you’re joining the costume contest, getting your photo taken by , exploring the scavenger hunt, or just enjoying some treats from the food truck, the Wailin’ Whalens’ lively tunes will keep the pawty going!
