I interrupt your social scrolling to make this public announcement. Please microchip your pets! Yesterday while I was at our drop off/pick up located in historical downtown Plainfield when a dog caught my eye. Most people will say what’s the news there Jill? All dogs catch your eye. But this dog was roaming on a side street across a busy Highway 40. He looked tired and overheated, I was trying to figure a way to get to him. He managed to cross the highway and two wonderful ladies came to his rescue. They took him to the vet clinic a block away, but unfortunately he had no identification tags & he was not microchipped. I volunteered to take him to my boarding facility otherwise he was headed to the local animal shelter. Another good Samaritan posted him on a local lost and found website around 3:00. At 8:00 I received a frantic text saying I think you have my dog! His name is Allen and he safely home but not before I preached about how he would have been home within 5 to 10 minutes of his rescue had he been microchipped. AirTags & identification tags are great but they can fall off please microchip your beloved pets to ensure their safe return.
