Hello everyone.
Our club is looking to help one of our club members: Colby and her family. Colby is an incredible friend, sister, team player, and most of all...an incredible mother. Sophia was born 5/9/13 when Colby was 18 years old. She found out that Sophia has RCDP when she was born. The doctors quickly offered to let Sophia pass away, but Colby was determined to give her a life full of love regardless of her disease being diagnosed as having no cure and terminal.

RCDP is a rare genetic form of dwarfism that occurs in 1 in every 100,000 live births. This means that the bones closest to the body (humerus and femur) start to shorten, stippling at the ends of the bones, low plasmalogen levels, and a short life expectancy. Sophia's plasmalogen levels are very low which makes her categorized as severe.

Sophia has lived a life full of love and lots of fight. She has a feeding tube placed (relocated multiple times and different types), cataracts removed in both eyes, and spinal stenosis (her c1-c7 being compressed). Unfortunately this past year her fight has continued to get harder after catching covid. She is having struggles with seizures, digesting food, high heart rates, low oxygen levels, and a few other things. She has continued to fight hard, but her body is weak and she is progressing to finding peace with what happens when our souls move on.
We can not begin to imagine the pain that Sophia's mom, sister, and family are going through. Sophia is a ray of light who always made each and every person smile with her playful sass and bright smile. Every nurse recently has even fought to care for her due to her beautiful personality. She truly has been a ray of light in everyone's life that knows her.

Due to the nature of the situation being incredibly unpredictable and traumatic on top of medical bills, travel, time away from work, and potential near funeral, we have decided to make this GoFundMe to help the Jackman family relieve some of the stress they are experiencing.
