Meet: 🐶 Clara - Dark Blue Collar Female - AKC Standard Poodle

🐩✨ Week 4: Socialization ✨🐩
🐾 Our puppies are now 4 weeks old, and it’s time for some exciting socialization activities and food introduction!

Here’s what we are working on this week:
🌟 Sight & Sound:
Puppies’ sight and hearing have improved, and they’re exploring their surroundings.
We hear lots of new barks and playful noises as they find their voices!
🎉 Play & Interaction:
Puppies are starting to mouth and play with each other!
We’re introducing them to new people in a safe and controlled environment.
💪 Building Strength:
They’re gaining muscle strength and coordination, learning to move forwards and backwards.
They’re improving their balance and coordinated walking.
🏠 New Living Space:
We’re moving the pups into a larger space while ensuring a predictable and safe environment.
🔍 Exploration & Confidence:
We’re providing various tactile (footing) options, shapes, sizes, and movements to foster confidence.
Letting them explore and think independently without forcing them into situations.
💗 Gentle Handling:
Handling exercises increase in intensity and pressure, but always with tenderness and respect.
We spend lots of time holding pups and introducing them to children 5 y.o. and up, keeping them close to our hearts, and ensuring they feel safe and secure.
We are also introducing them to the sounds and feel of grooming shears.
🍲 Feeding & Routine:
Puppies have started on their puppy mush formula.
Using the “puppy, puppy, puppy” recall at feeding times to build positive associations.

We’re committed to ensuring our puppies grow up to be confident, resilient, and happy dogs. Stay tuned for more developmental updates. 🐾❤️

Meet: 🐶 Dexter- White Collar Male - Red Abstract Standard Poodle
🐾 3-Week Handling Exercises – Gentle Foundations 🐾

At three weeks old, our poodle puppies begin gentle handling exercises designed to desensitize them to touch and create positive early experiences. 🐩 This helps prepare them for grooming, vet visits, and everyday interactions as they grow.

🌟 Why Handling Exercises Matter (Inspired by the Empowered Badass Breeder):
✅ Early Desensitization – Touching paws, ears, and mouths at this stage reduces sensitivity and prevents future stress.
✅ Positive Associations – Gentle, calm handling builds trust and creates a foundation for lifelong comfort with human interaction.
✅ Smooth Transitions – These small experiences now make future training, grooming, and care easier and more enjoyable.

🐶 What This Looks Like:

Lightly touching and massaging paws, ears, and tails.
Gently opening their mouths and holding them in different positions.
Speaking softly to reinforce calm, positive experiences.

✨ These early handling exercises are part of raising well-adjusted, adaptable puppies ready to thrive in their future homes.
