✨ Trixie Update ✨

Trixie had her spay and corkscrew surgeries on Friday with Dr. Sabshin of Harmony Vet Care.

We made the decision to move forward with the corkscrew surgery because without it, her back end would have caused her chronic pain and ongoing inflammation for the rest of her life. She also would have continued to suffer from infections in that area, leaving her future adopter with a lifelong medical battle and extensive preventative care. This surgery gives her the chance at a more comfortable, healthy, and happy life.

Trixie is now healing and doing well, and once she is fully recovered, we will begin the search for her furrever home! This little warrior has come such a long way from very poor health, and we are so incredibly proud of her. ❤️

Friends, we need your help!

Salamander needs us, and he needs us NOW. 🐾

Salamander was a stray who was hit by a car. While he healed physically in the shelter, emotionally he is still a scared boy who never learned normal “dog life” manners. He was recently adopted, but his adopter has realized that his puppy energy is too much for her situation, as she does not have a yard for him to release that energy. The good news? He enjoys laying on the couch and does well with her cats!

So what does Salamander need?

He has a permanent placement waiting up north, but first he needs time to decompress and learn how to truly be a dog and receive love. We are urgently seeking an experienced foster who can provide him with patience, structure, and the safe space he needs to understand that love, family, and home are good things.

We need a foster by TOMORROW. If one is not found, his current owner will have no choice but to return him to the shelter.

Please do not waste time or energy bashing the owner in the comments. Instead, let’s pour all of that energy into finding Salamander the safe, loving foster home he deserves.

He is so worth it — he just doesn’t know it yet. 🙏🏼❤️🐾

Hi there do you know me or my family?

This sweet pup was found by Officers wandering around E Park Rd and Corporate Center Ln. She is very thin with longer nails so she may have been lost and on her own for awhile. She is safe at the police department now and animal control has been notified.

Ariel (fka Pony) had her wellness visit today with our amazing docs at Harmony Vet Care!

If you’re just joining us, she was a shelter dog until we adopted her a week ago.  the purpose of her visit was to get her established with our veterinarian and come up with a care plan that is best for her.

Ariel isn’t using her rear leg at all. She doesn’t even toe-touch when she’s standing in one place. Her fracture is old and has healed the way that it is. It is causing pain. Her hip is also out of socket, so the doctors feel that amputation is the best route to go.

Ariel had bloodwork today and came home with pain relief medications until we can schedule her amputation.

We have FIVE of our kiddos at the vet today!

• Liam is having a checkup and stitches removed ❤️
• Ariel is having her initial wellness visit so we can create a care plan moving forward ❤️
• Navarro is having a sedated visit so we can get orthopedic x-rays and a full exploratory exam on him ❤️
• Xena is having her spay surgery and some blood work ❤️
• Trixie is having her spay surgery and the corkscrew tail surgery so that she will not have to live a life with infections ❤️

We are so very thrilled to have such a wonderful team of veterinarians helping our kiddos! Thank you Harmony Vet Care!

Attention! Attention! Gather around everyone! Time for our weekly meeting.
Baloo, Walter Matthau, Walter, Ariel, Reva, Rusty, Bentley, Mr. G, and Hugo, front and center, please.
Listen up! There are 9 more days left for National Adopt a Senior Pet Month. The friends in front of you are all seniors and looking to be adopted! We have 9 senior friends and 9 days left. So, this is my goal, get one senior a day adopted! Who is with me on this challenge? (Giant uproar erupts in the yard, everyone trying to talk at the same time)
Okay, quiet down. Now all of their stories and pictures are on our page, so we don’t have to take up time or space to go over all that. What we need to do is contact all our friends and let them know that it may not be a tik-tok challenge, but it still can go viral. Remember we are Family and our seniors need the very best homes! They deserve it! Where ever you go and who ever you meet, tell them about our challenge. Spread the word far and wide. Together we can do it!
In other news, Mom had a successful brunch for our dear Liam. She also had so many vet visits this week, that I think they were going to make her part of the staff! She is spending almost the entire day today there! Halo got her feeding tube out, because she is doing so well. She even gained weight! Mom is getting ready for a really big event coming up on December 6th. I will have to get all the details for you next week.
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving, and rumor has it that all of us will be getting Turkey balls. They are so yummy! Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know Mom will make sure we do! Remember to spread the word about our challenge. Just maybe, if we get some of our seniors adopted, we will each get 2 Turkey balls.

Jazzy (FKA Siren) is home!

We are so thrilled to announce that Jazzy has the most wonderful home and family! Jazzy hit the jackpot with this one! She has human kids, a playful fur-sibling and two parents who adore her! We are so to have such wonderful adopters for our rescues!

Lulu PUPDATE!

Lulu’s mommy had a tiny human and Lulu goes everywhere with them! Life is so beautiful when we can share full circle miracles like this one.

If you are just joining us, Lulu lost her owner and their veterinary team reached out to us after the family members surrendered her to the vet. She’s a gorgeous little senior fox terrier. Her adoptive family was her foster family, so we couldn’t be more happy!

Sometimes we are able to wrap up one story with loss of life and start another with a birth. That is truly magical!

Reva and Manny are at Harmony Vet Care for wellness visits and dental evaluations.

These two have both lost weight! It is so very important to not overfeed your dog, as it leads to cardiac issues, breathing issues and early wear and tear on joints and spine.
