Vinnie’s New Beginning 🐾
A few weeks back, we announced two incoming Frenchies, Trixie and Vinnie.
Trixie came to us in awful medical condition, and you’ve seen several updates about her healing journey. Vinnie, on the other hand, hasn’t been mentioned much, and there’s a reason for that.
We’ve been working with Vinnie for a few weeks now, but his progress has been very minimal. He came from a background where he was raised to “protect” his owner from the time he was a baby. Dogs with that kind of ingrained behavior can struggle deeply when their world changes. They often see us as the people who took away the only life they understood, and they can hold onto that resentment tightly.
When progress stalls, we have to put the dog’s best interest above our pride. That’s why, as of last night, Vinnie began a three-week board and train program with The K9 Blueprint in Spring Hill. 💪🐾
It’s always a little sad when we can’t be the ones to break through, but part of rescue is knowing when to ask for help. We’re incredibly grateful to Dollars Four Duncan for partnering with us to bring both Trixie and Vinnie to safety, and for sponsoring Vinnie’s training program! They’re also running raffles to help raise funds for his care, so please check out their page if you’d like to support this effort.
Here’s Vinnie, settling into his new space and starting his road to change. A fresh start toward a brighter, better life ahead. ❤️🙏🏼🐾
