***Update-A/C is fixed!! 🙌

Our air conditioner has been down since the weekend and the pups have not handled the heat well. I feel awful having to reschedule appointments, but I’m truly doing this for your pup’s safety. My sincerest apologies for any inconveniences!!!

When dogs sneeze during play, it's called a "play sneeze" and it's a way for dogs to communicate that their play is friendly and not aggressive. It's a signal to their playmates that they're just having fun and not trying to start a fight.

Dogs have a variety of body language and vocalizations that they use to communicate with each other, and the play sneeze is just one example of this. Other signals that dogs use during play include the "play bow," where a dog lowers their front end and sticks their rear end up in the air, and the "play growl," which is a softer, less threatening version of a real growl.

WHAT COLOURS DO DOGS SEE?
Contrary to popular belief, dogs are not colour blind.

A dog’s visual world is certainly not as vibrantly colourful as ours, but they do see a range of yellow, grey and blue shades and have better night and peripheral vision than we do.

Colour is interpreted and discerned by nerve cells in the eyes. The retina has two main types of cells called rods, which detect light levels and motion and cones which differentiate colour.

A human’s eyes have three types of cones which can identify combinations of red, blue, and green.

Dogs have only two types of cones that are only able to discern shades of blue, yellow and grey – this perception of colour is called dichromatic vision.

An ophthalmology professor at the University of Washington discovered that dogs could see blues and yellows but not reds and greens. This information would have been confirmed by anatomical investigation of a dog’s eye.

It would make more sense if manufacturers of dog toys would take a dog’s colour spectrum into account when producing dog toys.

Toys are usually made to visually appeal to people, not dogs.

Shades of yellow, grey or blue are far more appealing to your dog than a bright shade of red or another colour.

Considering bringing in an additional person to help in the grooming salon. This can be a part time or full time position, but must mostly be during normal business hours. (Currently 7 am to 4 pm). May be some weekend and/or evening work as well, but not often. Will consider summer time, temporary help also.

Ms. Jennifer Hayden isn’t going anywhere… This is so she and I can focus more on grooming. It’ll be a year this month that she joined our Beaux & Belles family, and we are lucky to have her!

Cleaning & sanitizing kennels
Walking dogs
Cleaning messes
Vacuuming hair

Assisting with boarders
Cleaning litter boxes
Loving on the dogs
Assisting in keeping dogs calm on the grooming table

💲If you’re hoping to get rich, don’t bother applying.

📵 If you tend to stay on your phone all day, don’t bother applying.

⏰If you are doing drugs or tend to drink so much your head hurts in the morning and you can’t wake up on time, you get it by now….don’t bother applying.

🚗 If don’t have transportation to and from work, don’t bother applying.

👶🏻 If you don’t have a regular babysitter, don’t bother applying.

😵‍💫If you don’t like being told what to do, don’t bother applying.

Drama, insubordination, undependability, dishonesty, or any other undesirable characteristics will not be tolerated.
