‼️A Friendly Reminder‼️

❄️☃️With some snow and bitter cold weather we're expecting here in Clinton County, we have a winter weather safety reminder for your dog. In snowy weather, please remember salt and chemicals are unhealthy for your pet and should be wiped off as soon as he/she comes inside.

Also, be aware of ice balls that can form between the pads and toes if your dog has a lot of fur on his/her paws which can add to the problem of retaining chemicals.

Trust us - we know that our dogs are part of our family and they deserve their own presents and Christmas stockings... HOWEVER -

Let’s talk about where rawhide comes from;
• rawhide is essentially the skin of animals, most commonly cattle or pork
• the skin is soaked and treated with many chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide and bleach to remove hair and fat, remove leather odors and to help with preservation.
• colorings, and sometimes flavors, are added which is where the bright colors come from that catch your eye in a pet shop.

🚫‼️We would advise you to avoid buying and giving these treats for many reasons as they can cause a lot of serious medical problems in dogs such as choke and intestinal blockages.
In most cases, intestinal blockages can only be repaired by surgical removal which is a great risk for your dog.

FOOD DRIVE! GET ENTERED TO WIN GIFT CERTIFICATE IN RAFFLE!

Hello everyone, we are collecting donations for a local food drive again this year. For every non-perishable item donated you will receive an entry into a raffle for a $50 gift certificate for Palmer Veterinary Clinic.

This year we are donating to the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Shelf and their most requested items include:
-cookies
-canned corn
-canned green beans
-canned peas
-canned carrots
-stuffing
-boxed macaroni and cheese, boxed macaroni, boxed spaghetti
-peanut butter, jelly
-canned tuna, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken, and tomato soup.

Hunger never quits so we will be collecting donations from now until November 23rd and again from the 25th to December 6th. Drawing for the raffle will be on December 7th!

Help us help our neighbors in need. This year
—so far—around 5,300 families and 12,500 people have been served by this emergency food shelf.
