When Re-training you have to give them time to think, and room to correct themselves and not punishing them for messing up. Make your place a safe place for them to fail and then they will try harder because they are confident and calm.
Iām working on catching her. Sheās been trained to run anytime you come into her pen, she turns the wrong way because sheās afraid. With a little patience and reassurance sheās learning that she can look at me, she doesnāt have to be afraid and I wonāt whip her if she gets afraid and walks away or turns the wrong way.
Whipping/running a horse when they turn away from you is just drilling it into their head that you are predator and they are prey, and they are not safe with you. Instead build their confidence by showing them you wonāt chase them when they are afraid. Just wait for them to stop and then walk away. This shows them they can trust you and gives them space to be curious and confident. Donāt force, Build trust.
Will be getting more videos when itās not muddy and raining. #buttercup

Thereās always that one horse whoās too good for the trough. ā¤ļøš
You shouldnāt have to ātrainā your horse to stay with you, they should want to be with you. This mare is so smart! And loves to work with me. #silver
Working on our turns, sheās getting the hang of it quick!

This is a good way to test how your partnership is going, Take off all your tack and she if they still try for you, if they still except you, if they even want to stay near you.

Learning the ropes
Soft cotton ropes help leave a good first impression on young minds.
Teaching the whoa from the ground first. I like teaching it this way because they learn to slide without bracing to much in the front.
