A Heartbreaking Loss
We wanted to reach out and share with you what happened to Blizzard. While we were out of the country for three weeks, he was staying at a boarding facility. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize that he wasn’t urinating normally. His urine backed up, causing his prostate to enlarge and put strain on his kidneys. When we picked him up, they told us he was doing fine—he looked healthy and was even playing.
After a couple of days at home, we noticed he wasn’t quite himself. At first, we thought he was just adjusting back to being home and missed us. But three days later, I picked him up to groom him and was shocked to see how much weight he had lost. I immediately called my veterinarian, and they got him in that same day. After running blood tests and X-rays, they found that he was in stage three kidney failure.
We did everything we could to save him, keeping him under 24-hour care and trying every possible treatment. Sadly, despite all efforts, we lost him😢
