Although the ingredient list sounds great in these, grain free is not safe for your pets!! It is directly related to dilated cardiomyopathy!! I stress that ANY grain free even if it isn’t listed here, that only means it hasn’t been reported. ANY grain free diet can cause DCM.

Clicker Training - What is it? The click “marks” the correct action for the dog, that way they know exactly what they did that was “right”.

Is a clicker necessary to train your dog? No. The clicker just helps make training more efficient and precise and helps your dog learn exactly what you want faster.

Meet Gunther. He’s very excited to get to do some tricks. Training empowers your dog and positive reinforcement training gives your dog an opportunity to earn a high valued reinforcer. In this case some treats, but it could be snuggles, play time, tug or fetch. Figure out what your dog loves and give them a chance to earn that coveted thing. It’s a win - win for you and them.

If something feels wrong, it probably is.

If your dog seems scared or in distress, they probably are.

If it feels like the person you’ve hired is being too rough with your dog, you’re probably right.

Just because someone is marketing themselves as a trainer or “behaviourist” doesn’t mean they get a pass on animal abuse. I’ve had clients tell me their dog screamed or cried out when a new tool was being used and it was written off as normal, not painful and “just part of the process.” This is absolutely unacceptable.

Dog training is unregulated and the impact of these methods can cause lifelong trauma. Trust your instincts.
