Friendly reminder that we will be open 9a-7p tomorrow (Christmas Eve) and will be closed on Christmas day! Get your last minute shopping in!

Please note:

• We do not encourage purchasing live fish as White elephant or christmas gifts. We reserve the right and will be respectfully declining fish being purchased as white elephant gifts.

• If you do want to purchase a fish for a gift, we recommend purchasing the proper habitat per the respective species and a gift card. Your aquarium has to be properly cycled before adding live stock.

Seeing the world of lovable pets and animals can be exciting but remember that these are living animals! We just wanted to pass a friendly reminder along to all guests visiting the Aquatics department or any of our Companion animal departments. While it is exciting, please don't scare the fish/animals by tapping, slamming or screaming at the glass. Parents please ensure your children are with you at all times for their own and the animal's safety.

Here are some examples of why it is important to not tap or touch the glass in our Aquatics department!

1) Sound amplification underwater:
Sound travels much further and louder underwater than in air, making even a small tap on the glass seem like a loud bang to the fish.

2) Stress response:
Frequent tapping can lead to chronic stress in fish, impacting their health and wellbeing.

3) Erratic behavior:
Startled fish may swim erratically, potentially leading to collisions with tank decorations or other fish.

4) Potential for harm:
In extreme cases, continuous loud noises from tapping could even cause physical harm to the fish.

Did you know that Nerite snails are one of the only species of snails that can't over populate a freshwater aquarium simply due to the requirement of a brackish system in order for the eggs to hatch?

They are one of my best diatom-consuming snails and can vary in various patterns and colors. We always have Tigers and Zebras in stock weekly for all your clean up crew needs! 🐌
