Here are a few simple measures you can take to make sure your dog stays warm, happy, and healthy throughout the winter.

Limit Dog's Time Outside. ... (Did you know dogs can get frostbite just like us? It’s especially easy for them to get it on their ears and tails!)

Stay Indoors When Possible. ... their bodies need time to get used to the cooler weather we’ve been having.

Bundle Your Dog Up. ... not so much in Southern California unless you have pups or small breeds. But if you are traveling somewhere cold this Christmas season, make sure to pack your furry friends jacket!

Consider Your Dog's Age. ... young pups and older aged dogs have a harder time regulating their body temperature.

Protect Your Dog's Paws. ... dog boots or paw protection are a must for snow and ice!

Invest in a Heated Dog Bed. ... this is a really great option for our senior friends. The heated dog bed’s usually come with an auto shut off to make it easy and safe!

Trim Foot Fuzz. ... hair on feet can turn into ice if it’s too cold out. Even our early morning temperatures here in Ventura County!

Clean Your Dog's Feet… this is more so in places where it snows. Deicer is not good for skin or paw pads. A great moisturizer for paw pads are important too!!
