We wanted to notify everyone there was a huge misunderstanding when we were trying to help with a lost dog on Friday (09-18-20). Sense then there has been a person that has been saying wrongful things in comments and harrasing our organization. If anybody gets contacted by this person claiming wrongful things about us. The process on our page: We try and raise at least $400 in pledges for each dog who is heartworm (HW) negative. If a dog is HW positive then we have the $400 goal but we strive for more b/c the treatment can be so pricey. Pull fees at the shelter are currently $45 for the vaccines shown below, $75 more if dog is spayed/neutered. We are a non-profit so we collect the pledges, subtract the pull fee and donate what's left to the rescue for whatever else they may need (further vetting, HW treatment, transport, boarding, etc.). Please help us help them! Pledges are ONLY for rescue orgs.

Intake Date: 08/22/20. HW?. Stray. Dewormed and given distemper/parvo vaccine 3 days after intake, when stray hold is up. Given Rabies vaccine and bordetella. Will be Given Simparica & heartguard on 08/24/20.

Approximately 10m old, male, shepherd/husky mix. Was shot in face by owner and left for dead. No reasoning why yet. He ran and hid under a neighbors car afterward. The shelter is looking for more information on the incident and an investigation has been started. He is currently at the ER in Wilmington. He is under the county right now. The bill going to be at least $1500 by Monday when they will release him. They will send him back to shelter with antibiotics, and pain meds until a rescue can be secured & then he will need more extensive medical procedures. They said he will likely need his eye removed, and that his jaw fixed since it is broken.

UPDATE: please direct all pledges for Reznik to this thread - the ER vet’s phone is getting too overwhelmed and they can’t focus on helping animals in need. Thank you!

PS. Any threatening comments toward the owner, rude comments period, cursing, or pointless swamping our threads with emoticons/graphics wont be tolerated. All will be deleted. Please we are only here to help save Reznik and get medical donations for his treatment. If you have to complain about what happened you can call the shelter or county when they open Monday morning. Whiteville, Columbus County, NC.
