Little poppy has certainly grown up. It’s taken quite some time to build trust enough where we can easily pop in while the Human is away. Overnights are a good option but not right for everyone’s budget. To accommodate more budget friendly options for dogs who need more companionship and time to get to know one another, we might build up to care.

Building long term and sustainable relationships with a consistent team is an ideal way to build a dependable care team while you’re away. It takes time too. Start with walks every few weeks to build the relationship of trust, extend out to customized drop in windows for meals and meds, potty breaks and tuck ins.

While you’re on vacation we can customize drop in care around the needs of your pet, based on the relationship built. If we need more time, we are flexible.

Poppy still doesn’t like her feet touched - we are working on that one. But we got long term care with DOWN 😂

Miss Addison is one of our favorite waterfront pups. She always knows how to cheer us up with a funny look, tons of sassy mannerisms, and a sense of humor only years of working together can bring out of her. She’s a liiiiil spicy, but that’s a big reason we love our addy girl ❤️😂

Bran certainly took his time warming up to me, but after two years we finally had a major breakthrough this week. Before this I had only seen a brief white and orange flash before he went missing. But this week he got real brave and decided to give in to temptation. Turns out he’s a huge lovebug!! The dude was SO silly, huge fan of treats and Portland sun.

Why lag is one of those gals who realllllly wants enrichment but not so much up for the whole walking bit. Today she wanted to use her walk time for a car ride instead so we took her on a leisurely lap around the neighborhood, parked and walked around back home. She got in a light exercise with time spendt doing her favorite things, with her favorite Pal, Paola ❤️

Not our usual post, but man what a year it has been. I’m forever grateful for this incredible community for all the love and support over the past few years. We initially started PetPals in the middle of the pandemic, in efforts to reach our seniors and make sure they were okay. It evolved into a community centered around the nurturing kindness and compassionate care that comes from a united love for pets.

This year has been incredibly hard for a great many of our community. We have all experienced losses of many kinds this year. We have also seen families grow, move away, and even move back home. We hope that all the growth and change you may have experienced this year has made you stronger, more resilient, and kinder.

Thank you all for being with us on our journey. We can’t wait to welcome the new year with you!

12/24/2024 Northwest Naturals Raw Pet Food - A recall notice has been issued on all Turkey based toppers due to a highly infectious disease (highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus.

We have been following the advisory notice and upon veterinary guidance we recommend avoiding ALL NW Naturals products until the recall is lifted. We advise this due to cross contamination in warehouse facilities and the highly contagious nature of this virus.

Pets at the MOST RISK: CATS AND DOGS.
- cats are incredibly susceptible to HPAI viruses

If you want to look into the recent and devastating impact HPAI has caused at the WA Big Cat Sanctuary where the virus killed 20 big cats.
