Betty Huang, Portland Veterinarian

Betty Huang has been an avid backpacker, outdoor enthusiast and naturalist since her teenage days. She bucked the expectations of her traditional Chinese urban upbringing to follow the natural world in all its inherent organic earthiness, dirtiness, and beauty. She has scrubbed her pots and pans with dirt, chewed gum with cow pen water, and washed diarrhea off of a captive tiger, and wrestled rams

and bucks with scars to prove it. She is a graduate of University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. She is also a graduate of the International Veterinary Acupuncture IVAS certification course. She brings together the knowledge of treating diseases from a Western medicine perspective and an integrative approach of caring and healing the whole being through Eastern medicine training. She practices yoga, meditation, hikes, runs, and backpacks to stay in tune with living whole heartedly in the body, mind, and spirit.
