Zoey sure missed us when we were out of town! She has been clingy, jumpy and out of sorts for the past few days, but she seems back to normal this morning. She is the most precious little thing! I missed her as much as she missed me.

Just an update about future puppies. Sallie is just now going into her 2nd heat. Since she’s not 2 yet I will need to wait until her next heat to breed her. I’m thinking it will be next summer (2025) before she has a litter. Zoey hasn’t had her second heat yet, so it will likely be next fall for her also, however she turns 2 in January, so if she doesn’t have her second heat until close to her birthday she could have a litter in early spring! The vet recommends not breeding until they either turn 2 or after their 2nd heat, and I’m following that advice! In any case, 2025 will be the inaugural year for the first sets of Nana’s Star Yorkies!

It’s coming up on the 1 year anniversary of when I brought Sallie Belle and Zoey Patricia home. I’m so glad I got both of them as they have just delighted in each other! Neither of these girls were my initial plan, but God had a better plan and now my heart is complete! They weren’t cheap, but no price could ever match the love they bring to my home!

What are your thoughts on yorkie tail docking? My girls are docked, but I can find no reason, other than aesthetics, and AKC breed standards for show dogs to do it. It also appears to cause difficulty for them to communicate properly with their tails, and possibly p**p properly. Anyway, since I will be breeding my girls I’m wondering if tail docking is something prospective buyers would expect?
