Claudette came home today.

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to message or call me to express their condolences over the last week. I really appreciate your kind words and the gestures made in her remembrance. They have made the last few days suck a bit less.

Thank you, Claudette, for choosing me. You came to me when I wasn't even looking and brought so good into my world. I hope you were happy here, and know how much I, and others, LOVED you. You were an incredible creature, and I'm so proud to have been your person. Helping you off the struggle bus to find painless peace in the end has been one of the hardest things I have done, but I'm so glad that you're free from the pain and worry now. I know you'll be around when I need you, but for now go find your friends that have crossed that bridge before you. You've earned the best treats, friends, and sunspot naps to be had. I love you baby pug.
