Today for we thought it would be helpful to give everyone a reminder of what dogs can and cannot indulge in during dinner! Of course, we’ve probably all snuck our dogs some mashed potatoes or ham, but we don’t want to give them too much due to the high fat and sodium content. Things like desserts, we worry about the xylitol. Dog should never have raw dough, the yeast continues to convert the sugar into carbon dioxide and alcohol in the dogs stomach, which is very dangerous!

If you’re worried your dog got into something potentially harmful, having the Pet Poison Helpline or your local 24 hour emergency vet’s number readily available is a great idea!
Everyone here at Nuzzles wishes you and your furry family a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

We’re open!

As of this time, I will not be offering mid-day check ins or walks, only overnight sitting. A typical overnight begins between 6:30-7:30pm and ends between 6:30-7:30am. Depending on your needs, this can include administering medication, performing basic household needs (like watering plants or bringing in the mail), and of course, lots of love and TLC for your fur baby!

If you’re looking for an overnight pet sitter in the near future or have any questions, feel free to send a DM or text! Contact information is in our bio!

Remember the 7-second rule. If placing your palm on concrete or asphalt is too hot for you after 7 seconds, it’s waaaaay toooo hot for your pup to walk on.

Thanks to LARPBO - Los Angeles Responsible Pit Bull Owners for the tip!

Knowing these signs could save your pup’s life!

Even when you think the temperature is OK or feels fine to you, your fur kid may feel very differently. Animals don't sweat like humans, so they heat up a lot quicker than we do. Their primary source of cooling down is through panting which is wildly inefficient when exposed to too much heat!

The #1 cause of heatstroke in dogs is leaving them in a vehicle! Never-ever leave a dog in a car even on a mild day. While you're in the air-conditioned store grabbing a few things, your car is quickly turning into an oven. Dogs can suffer brain damage and die from heatstroke.

Helpful Tips: Walk in the early morning and late evening when it is cooler. Carry water with you. Limit exercise on hot days. Avoid surfaces that absorb heat, like asphalt, pavement, metal, sand, and car seats. These materials absorb heat from the sun and can stay hot for hours (even after the sun has gone down). Temperatures on these surfaces can exceed 145° F‼️

Keep your fur kids cool! Fans, ice cubes, frozen treats, kiddie pools, and sprinklers can all help keep the kids cool on hot days.

Make sure fresh water and a cool place to rest is available at all times. xo

Friendly reminder to never have lilies in your house if you have a cat... especially Easter lilies!! They’re extremely toxic and cause the cat to go into kidney failure. Even the pollen of the lilies can be deadly to your kitty.

Be safe this Easter and don’t bring any lilies home!!
‼️‼️‼️

Please! Do not bring these into your home if you have cats! Lots of people think that pointsettas are toxic - these are so. much. worse. All parts of the plant, including the pollen, can lead to irreversible kidney failure if integested by a cat. We shared before, but if this saves even one kitty, it was worth sharing again.

AS OF TODAY, I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY DOGSITTING REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

I will come back and update when this changes. For now, here is some information from the CDC’s website about how to keep your pet safe.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/animals.html

Please be responsible, stay healthy and keep your fur babies healthy too! If you are exhibiting any symptoms, try to limit contact with your pet if possible! Your pets rely on you for their happiness and wellbeing, so if you have any questions, make sure to contact your vet.

**if you have any emergencies where you need a sitter/walker, reach out and I will see if I am able to assist but I cannot guarantee at this time that I will be able to**

Happy to announce the newest employee of Mag’s Wags!

Stewart was hired on Sunday, 2/9. He will be working in the home office. He isn’t the best at following orders (probably because he’s deaf 🧏🏼‍♂️) or making eye contact (probably because he’s blind 👨🏼‍🦯) but he is very good at taking naps and receiving ear scritches.

Even though this is only his first week on the job, he as already been awarded “employee of the month”! As a 10 year old senior, he has brought a lot of wisdom and knowledge to the table since he has seen a lot in his life (ba dum tss 🥁).

I will be keeping you guys updated on his progress as a new employee. I have a feeling he will be receiving a lot more “employee of the month” awards in the future.

Snowed in with some pups last night!

01/19/2020

Hi there! My name is Margaret. I currently work part time and go to school full time to become a veterinary technician. Pet sitting is my second job.

I began my business in 2018 with just one or two clients and it has slowly grown since then! I generally do overnight pet sitting in your own home, but can also provide drop in visits for your pets if needed. Check out my services page to see what I can offer. If you have any questions about cost, availability, scheduling, or anything else, feel free to send me a message! I am also available via email ([email protected]) or phone/text (845-554-4969)

Many of my clients love that I have medical experience since I am currently a Vet Tech student. I also have personal experience with senior and special needs pets. I previously adopted 4 senior Pekingese, with most of them requiring special attention and medication. I know how nerve racking it can be to have to leave your pets in someone else’s hands. I like to treat all of my pet sitting clients as if they were my own, because that is what I would look for in a pet sitter!

As I mentioned, feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my services. I will also be updating my Reviews page shortly so keep an eye out for that!
