I’m going to post Black Friday stud deals!! But I’m extremely slow moving today, and I had to drop of a one of our girls for some swim time Rocking Horse Therapy & Rehabilitation (shes got a Black Friday deal going on too) and then I realized I needed a bigger blanket for the girl I dropped off with Jennifer so I had to check out Heart Mountain Trading Post to grab a new blanket and maybe a few other Black Friday items 😜!! Hi everyone, sorry I’ve dropped the ball on daily chats…..I was trying to do my tax prep and well I’m not done still 🤦🏻‍♀️. However this cool equine therapist tagged me in a post about needing an app to manage brood mares, and I agree someone make me an app cause I’m no app creator!!!! However I do keep a heck of a lot of mares records for the breeding season! We own 25 broodmare, I honestly might be lying I don’t count them anymore. We also A.I.ed approximately 100 mares last year. And I haven’t shared this yet in a talk but yes I’m a state licensed A.I. Technician for equines, I also have my certificate in cattle A.I. But I digress this is about records. I attached 3 video clips from my barn, please don’t judge me it’s a hot mess I have all my equipment stashed and 2 kittens living in there we will start cleaning next week in preparation for February 15th the day we open. The videos show the system I use to keep info at the moment is gathered. I literally will right down every detail, mare has a booger in her nose it goes on her notes I’m looking at a lot of girls everyday I don’t want to miss a detail that can mess up getting her in foal. I also keep a note book with every culture done treatment and if the mare conceived after treatment. Also cultures go in the mares file and are given to clients for their records. I’ve also included in this talks pictures the form I use to keep mares info it’s blank feel free to use it or message me for the pdf file!!! I will share if you want to use it. I use a new page every cycle if she doesn’t catch the first cycle. I don’t normally give a copy to mare owners cause most don’t care but I keep them in case they decide they need them or in case I breed that mare again then I’ve got a history…remember a talk about estrus, we’re we track cycles well here you go here’s a great way to keep track.
