Lessh walking
🤪Is your puppy a maniac on leash?
Here are some helpful tips to help them learn loose leash walking😬
1. Start inside. Somewhere that is quiet and has little distractions.
2. Put your pups collar or harness on attached to the leash.
3. Start tossing treats from right to left rewarding when your dog comes back to you.
4. Move on to taking steps backward, one step at a time, and rewarding if the leash is loose and when your pup comes toward you!
✅The goal is not to automatically get your puppy to walk politely on leash after one training session.
✅The goal of this exercise to help build more focus and engagement into your relationship!

Importance of Puppy Sleep
Did you know this about your puppy?
He/she needs at least 16-18 hours of sleep per day😯
Now that may sound like a lot, because it is.
Think about how much sleep YOU need to sleep throughout the day to function and just how important it is for your emotional, physical, and mental well being😴
Puppies are developing at a rapid pace and need proper sleep to continue to grow healthily! All grow growing requires lots of energy!
If our pups do not get enough sleep, they may become rambunctious, more mouthy, jumpy, the list goes on…
This is why it might be a great idea to set up a crate or long term confinement area for you puppy to rest in.
If you feel your puppy isn’t getting adequate rest, I recommend adding in more physical exercise, maybe some mental enrichment and training games!
Do you think your pup gets enough sleep throughout the day?⬇️
Had such a good time at the k9 demonstration hosted by @alecak9 @findlaytoyotacenter @prescottpolicek9unit @prescottvalleypolice @prescottpolice!!! Such a great experience 🐾
You don’t need to be your dog’s boss. Forget being the “Alpha”. You don’t need to be the “pack leader”Dog’s need leadership. Someone to guide them, to inspire change, to truly understand what your dog is trying to communicate and help them work through it. Either way, our dog is going to make a decision. And left to their own devices, they may not make the most desirable choices. How can show the best leadership to our dogs? Be consistent and follow through with everything you ask of them. Use clear communication. Give them choices. Allow them to consentBe compassionate. Be kind. Reinforce what you WANT your dog to be doingKeep calm and lead by example. If you are on edge, frustrated, and anxious, this energy might pass on to your pup. Follow us for more dog tips! @happydog.community

Most clients think that the training didn’t work because they didn’t provide enough discipline.
That they needed to be more stern.
That they needed to "be the leader."
Now this isn’t completely wrong, but the interpretation isn’t quite right.
Sure, there's discipline involved, that's more about providing structure than reprimands.
Yes, you need to be the leader, that's more about being the provider rather than being the boss.
You want a cooperative partnership with your pup.
You don't want to be his/her harsh or strict boss.
You need trust. But how?
I'm here to help you find that partnership where your dog WANTS to do what you ask.
Where your dog voluntarily listens to your every word.
Where your dog would rather hang out with you rather than dig up the yard or tear up the house.
How do we accomplish this? How do we gain trust?
By being CONSISTENT!
By showing up for our dogs every day.
By providing clarity to no longer confuse our dogs.
By showing them what we want through consistent action🪄
By sitting down with your family and setting new rules to set each other up for success.
There are no magic tricks when it comes to dog training. The “magic” is in your daily actions🪄
Everything you grew up believing about dog training is wrong.
I know. It's a scary realization.
But that's one of the reasons "training" is perceived as such a struggle. Or as so much work.
You might be thinking its you vs them. You vs. your pup.
But it isn't. You're on the same team. Stop trying to create a war within your home.
You BOTH want to love your life together.
The real reason you're not making progress?
The way in which you perceive your dog's behavior is not reality.
So you might be trying to correct the wrong problem to begin with.
You might be making the wrong assumption about why he's acting the way he does.
I tell all my clients the following three tips for success:
1) Your dog isn't trying to take over the world. He's responding the only way he knows how. Let's teach him a different way!
2) Every being on Earth is motivated by something, let's find out what gets your dog jazzed up and excited to learn.
3) Prevention is key. What can we do to prevent this habitual behavior from continuing? Often, I can spot really quick, easy, and convenient ways to immediate change your dog's behavior in our first lesson.
Let’s rethink how we are “supposed” to train our dog and start supporting our dogs through the process ♥️
Anyone else have a shadow dog and not mind it too much? 🙋♀️However, if you’ve got a dog who seems to follow you EVERYWHERE and you just want a minute of a lone time, let’s teach our dogs how to “settle on their mat” and have some down time!We can teach our dogs that by being on their dog bed or a raised bed of some sort is way more relaxing than following mom around all day!
