Foster Homes Needed - Ruff Start Rescue Ruff Start Rescue is looking for fosters to open their homes to animals in need. We also ask that you treat your foster animal the same as if it were your own.

Foster care is the most important part of Ruff Start Rescue and allows us to continue our lifesaving efforts! The animals depend on people to open their hearts and homes to them and care for them until they are adopted. An RSR foster's responsibility is to love, feed, play, exercise and provide social interaction for the foster animal. We ask that you take the animal to vet appointments and handle

any medical tasks such as giving daily medications. It's easy to get started! The first step is to fill out the foster signup form. Then you will hear from an RSR representative so you can learn more about what fostering entails and discuss any questions or concerns you have before bringing your first foster animal home. We are excited to save lives with you!

Meet Dove, a 3-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix with the sweetest soul! 💛 At about 70lbs, she could use a walking buddy to help her shed a few pounds—but otherwise, she’s the whole package:

✨ Already spayed
✨ House & crate trained
✨ Gentle, affectionate, and loves everyone (dogs, cats, kids—with slow intros!)

A Ruff Start team member who met her said:
“She immediately loved me, takes treats so gently, and even sits without being asked! She had the best time running in the yard—she’s just perfect.”

Dove is located in C**n Rapids and just needs a foster home to help her get updated on vaccines and enjoy the good life until she finds her forever family.

🌸 Meet Lily 🌸
Lily is a sweet 9-year-old Chihuahua mix who’s had a rough start and needs a patient foster to show her what love and comfort really feel like. 💕

🐾 About Lily:
• ~20lbs (could use a little slimming!)
• Likely spayed, may need full vetting + dental (covered by rescue)
• Shy & undersocialized but does fine with dogs/cats once given time
• Potty trained to pads, not kennel trained
• Needs slow introductions & a calm home

She’s spent most of her life inside without much adventure, so she barks when nervous but just wants to feel safe. With the right person, Lily has a chance to blossom and enjoy the second half of her life the way she deserves. 🐶❤️

Meet Lalo (formerly Prince Teo) — a sweet 4-year-old, 60 lb RSR alum who’s looking for a safe, loving place to land. 💛

Sadly, his current family is facing increased allergies and financial challenges, and they want the very best for him.

✨ Why Lalo will steal your heart:
• Gentle, affectionate, and adores kids of all ages 👶❤️
• Gets along with the resident dog (slow intros recommended with new pups) 🐕
• Housetrained ✅ Crate trained ✅ Knows basic commands ✅
• Needs a little reassurance when feeling anxious — but a kind human can turn that around
• Seasonal allergies in summer, easily managed with limited outdoor time + Zyrtec 🌼
