I thought I’d make a get to know me and my pack post! My name is Acalia(Cali), I’m 19 I’ve grown up in Princeton and Alexander. I started my journey in dogs in 2017 when I became involved in the 4H, training and showing dogs. I got my first dog in 2018 when I was 15, she was a rescue and required a lot of obedience training. I spent many hours researching and training becoming very involved with the dog community. In 2022 I moved to Bangor where I started to work at a kennel, at this kennel I learned so much more. I was trained in dog handling, dog body language, behavior, I worked along side some amazing trainers and trained under the groomer at the kennel. The experience that I gained from there and what I learned prior I’ve taken and developed my own training skills and decided to share it with the rest of the area as I see the desperate need for an affordable training! I’d like to also acknowledge the experience my wonderful personal dogs have give me Psyche, Kaiser and Dutch. Training them has given me so much confidence and experience that I needed to start this! I’m happy so answer any questions anyone might have more in depth about my experiences!

Mental exercise and psychical exercise are two separate forms of exercise and most of your behavioral problems come from the lack of either. I find that mental exercise is the biggest thing most dogs are missing out on! Throwing a ball can be over stimulating when it’s overused causing a dog to react in a way that isn’t desirable. Making your dogs brain work is a great way to really tire out a dog, training and puzzles are a great way to accomplish this. Training with your dog for even 5-10 minutes a day or using a puzzle to feed really helps! But always make sure to change things up! Nobody likes doing the same thing over and over again!
