The North Carolina Wildlife Resource Dept of Biology will be on site at Boonhill Wildlife on October 29, 2022. They will be answering questions regarding CWD-Chronic Wasting Disease and taking samples of deer that have been harvested. This is due to several deer testing positive for CWD in the north western part of North Carolina. This disease does not affect humans. CWD was first detected in the mid western part of the United States over 30 years ago and has slowly spread across the U.S. CWD currently affects less than 1 percent of the deer in the U.S.
