With 3 Drs now on staff we have been happy to bring on new clients. With that said we have an exciting announcement….Dr Meakins will be on maternity leave until then end of September! We will be very limited on Dr hours to bring on new clients for a few months. Thank you your understanding and we are sorry for any inconvenience!

What is a “slab fracture”? A “slab fracture” happens when a portion of the crown breaks free from the tooth exposing the pulp cavity. This happens when dogs chew on extremely hard bones, rocks, sticks, etc. The black circle is the pulp cavity which is extremely sensitive and painful. Treatment requires extraction. Have you checked your dogs teeth? Does your pet have halitosis (bad breast)? Have they stopped chewing on their favorite chew toys? It might be time to take a peek…..//

Case of the day?…case if the week?…..‘tis the season for grass awn migration! If your dog is running through the field or in the tall grass these little grass seeds find their way in between their toes and sometimes in their ear. They can pe*****te the skin and create abscesses. Check in between those toes when they come in after their escapades!

As of October 7, Dr. Lori Mugasis will be retiring from Pets & Friends Animal Hospital. We will ALL miss her immensely! Her retirement results in me being the lone Dr. until we find additional veterinarians. With my dedicated support staff we will do our absolute best to continue to be there for you and your pets. We are grateful to those who have showered us with kindness and understanding. This is a very difficult and trying time in the veterinary industry. We understand the challenges you face to find help.
