A rescue from Georgia reached out to us to ask if we could help with an owner surrender with IVDD.....

We have a hard enough time keeping our heads above water with the IVDD cases in just SOUTH Florida so we gave our standard answer of "if you can get the dog to West Palm, we can help" thinking that would be the end of it as that is usually (understandably) transportation is the deal breaker for people asking for help not only do they want our help, they want us to somehow miraculously come to them to get the dog.

What were the chances that a rescue in GA is going to find a way to get an IVDD dog to us all the way in South Florida smack dab in the middle of the holidays???

Well, son of a gun, if they didn't put together a multi leg run sheet, 10 minutes before Christmas, to get Benny over 600 miles to us. They took the time to find a bunch of people in two states, who gave of their time and tires to meet people they didn't know, in parking lots they had never been to to help a dog they had never met get to the care it needed.

If that doesn't convey the magic of the holiday season, we sure as hell don't know what does.

While we were trying to find transporters for West Palm to Miami, DRSF transporter Conner offered to do Orlando to West Palm , Margo doing West Palm to Miami and Jen covering the final leg to get Benny to Dr. Kornberg at SEVN where he will be receiving an MRI and (hopefully) going right to surgery.

We know that it is right before the holidays and nobody has any spare cash hanging around at the moment.....We are beyond lucky to have an amazing angel who has offered if we can get to $2,500, they will kick in the other $2,500 to get Benny to his Funding Finish Line.

The holidays are all about miracles and we are hoping that YOU can help us make a miracle for Benny. As always, all it takes is $1 to join the hardest working, biggest loving team in rescue. So many have stepped up already to help Benny - Can he count on you for even a few dollars to help him meet his goal? 💙
