Happy Foster Friday!

We’ve paused new intake as we focus on finding homes for a few of our long-time dogs who’ve been waiting far too long. Each of them is looking for a foster home, and we provide all food, supplies, and medical care…our fosters simply provide the heart ❤️

Mary Kate 🐾
This 11-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix recently returned to rescue after an unexpected family change. She’s about 7–8 years old, house-trained, and good with kids and dogs. Mary Kate is finishing her heartworm treatment and is looking for a foster-to-adopt home where she can continue her recovery comfortably.

Jethro 🐾
Steady, loyal, and easygoing, Jethro gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. He’s been with us for quite some time and is ready for a new foster home that can give him the companionship he deserves.

Sam 🐾
A 7-year-old with a big heart, Sam is house trained and loves to be close to his people. He does best in a home with plenty of female company or with a calm, patient man who gives him time to build trust. Once he’s comfortable, he’s a loyal and loving companion.

Happy Foster Friday! Today we want to shine a light on our foster program, the heart of what makes rescue possible. Fostering not only gives dogs a safe and loving place to land, but it also opens space for us to save more lives. We provide the food, supplies, and medical care while our fosters provide the love and stability that change everything for a dog in need.

One of those dogs is Jethro. We are so thankful to his current foster for giving him care and comfort, but as they prepare to move, Jethro is once again searching for a foster or forever home. He is gentle, easygoing, and wonderful with dogs, cats, and children. He’s been waiting far too long, and now he needs someone to open their heart and home to him.

Sam was adopted four years ago but returned to us after his family’s divorce. At 7 years old and 75 lbs, he is housebroken, crate trained, and very well-mannered. Raised around older children, Sam has a gentle nature and the kind of steady loyalty that makes him a true companion.

He loves his toys and will happily entertain himself, but what he wants most is to curl up next to someone he can love and protect. Sam adores the ladies and would thrive in a female only home, or in a family with a kind, patient man who is willing to take introductions slowly and earn his trust.

After all he’s endured, Sam deserves the comfort of stability, the warmth of companionship, and the peace of finally belonging.

Krusty Krab is finally ready for pre-adoption, and he’s bringing along his Bikini Bottom buddy, Sandy Cheeks! 🦀 🐿️

Krusty Krab is a spunky boy full of love and energy who would be thrilled to have another cat friend to play with. Sandy Cheeks is just as adventurous as her name suggests, sweet and curious with plenty of personality.

Both will come up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, and with a negative f***l. They don’t have to be adopted together, but you can’t go wrong adding a little SpongeBob magic to your home!

Krusty the kitten is growing up so fast! Just a couple of weeks ago, this sickly little stray weighed only 210 grams. Today he’s a whole 1 lb of purrs and personality. While he is still dealing with some eye issues, we are overjoyed that he is continuing to thrive in foster! This tiny but mighty boy spends his days romping around with his favorite stuffed toys.

Welcome to Nykol’s Rescues, Krusty! 💛

Krusty was surrendered to us last week in truly fragile condition. He was severely underweight and battling an eye infection, upper respiratory illness, and GI parasites. We held off on sharing his story until he was stable, as his chances were uncertain at best.

At just a month old and now weighing 325 grams, Krusty has already shown incredible determination. In only a week, he’s gained back a third of his body weight and is starting to heal. The radiographs below show just how far he’s come in such a short time.

He’s being fed every three hours and receiving around-the-clock care from our rescue founder to help him keep gaining strength. His road to recovery is still long, but we’re so proud of the fight in this tiny kitten.
