Texas Cowboy Reunion was a great time per usual! Here’s the short round run of Crockett and “MCC Travalin Spots” (Mattie) getting it done in the double mugging with Waylon Davis as the mugger! Crockett Carothers ended up 2nd in the short round with this run and 4th and 5th overall!

"Mattie" Talk about MARE power 🔥

While Crockett has been down trying to heal his knee, we sent one of our 4 year old mares to Ty Harris for a few weeks to keep her tie down career in the works. Crockett has done a great job with this mare, starting her roping calves and to see someone like Ty get along with her so well is pretty rewarding. We believe she has a bright future as a high quality tie down horse. She's been one of the most naturally gifted calf horse prospects we've seen and we can't wait to see how she continues to improve in Ty's program. Thanks Ty for making her look good!

This 7 yo gelding is big b***d with a big and stout frame to match! He was bred and raised by the Circle Bar Ranch and is 𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑯𝑬𝑹𝑰𝑻𝑨𝑮𝑬 eligible. He was ranched on heavily there in his younger years and has since been used in the same line of work in Central Tx. He’s gentle with no buck, but does have a decent sized motor. He’s big and fast enough that someone could make a head horse or barrel horse out of him.

Here’s a horse of our own that we haven’t shared that has made some outstanding progress. She has come a LONG way in a short amount of time from last summer to now. When we purchased her, she went from never being outside of an arena in California…to RANCHING IN TX. Talk about a culture shock!

We bought her as a super green 3 YO that was spooked by a blade of grass on the ground, to roping her first bull outside. This filly is packed with as much athleticism that even a well seasoned rider can handle. We’ve spent several months getting her mind prepared to make an outstanding arena horse, whether that be as a rope horse or cowhorse. We are excited to see her progress in the arena after her mental boot camp as a cowboys horse!!

👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 These are the kind of texts that truly make it all worth while. Having a profitable business is good and all and we are thankful, but THIS is our why. Seeing our horses that we have poured so much blood, sweat, and tears into, go on and make someone else a good horse and to see them be successful on them isn’t just the icing on the cake…it is the cake!

This guy has been a staple in our program for a few years now and we have enjoyed every moment with him with his “want to please” nature. He has a year of cutting training, has seen all aspects of ranch work, and has been hauled to plenty of ranch rodeos and horse shows so he’s seen the sights and handles everything you put in front of him with a good mind. He was shown in the RHAA and at the 2021 Snaffle Bit Futurity in the Cowboy Class.
He is started out of the box and has had a good amount of calves tied down on him. He is pretty much ready to start hauling to ropings. Has plenty of run, rate, complete with a huge stop. He is wicked on a cow and great to sort on. Take him and use him, then rope or go enter a cutting on the weekends! He is the total package with the looks, pedigree, brains, and athletic ability. Gentle for anyone, but has a lot of action when asked so I wouldn’t call him a beginner type horse. This horse is the real deal and has the tag that matches so please no tire kickers.

Everyone say hello to Podunk! 🤠

He’s our newest addition that we have had around for a while now, but haven’t shared yet. We get calls weekly of people looking for gentle, ranch geldings and he is just that and more!

He has been the perfect addition to our program and we have really enjoyed having him around. He gets the call daily to go to work and is always up for whatever task! Be on the lookout for his sale ad in the upcoming months! He’s the kind for sure and they’re hard to find!

Crockett and our 3 yo “Mattie” went and helped the McBride family work their calves yesterday and this filly is really making a horse. She is by Matador Ranch’s Palo Duro Cat son, “MCC Travalin Cat” and out of a “Spots Hot” daughter. We’ve lightly started her pen roping calves and has been used outside extensively. Proud of this mare and the progress she’s made in the year we’ve owned her. Giving them a solid foundation as a ranch horse before we start them in the arena is a big part of our program. Setting them up for success by putting them in different situations at a young age makes all the difference down the road.
