Dream is polite with the halter now, tipping her nose in to assist it going on.

She loves going out for walks and exploring new spaces.

We took a walk though the field today and she enjoyed grazing on sweet grass. šŸ˜

Side note: Check out Dream's beautiful fall coat coloring. Changed from gold to smoke.
And those dapples! šŸ˜

Did a lot with Dream today.
Ended the session with picking up her feet at liberty. This was also my first time asking for her to pick up her right hind, she did very well.

Dream is more accepting of the halter now. We can walk right up to her now to put it on. Sheā€™s become less flinchy around her face.

We worked on matching steps tonight. Both at the walk and at the trot.

Dream learned that itā€™s OK when I bring my energy up to jog with her and not to be freaked out by it. šŸ˜„

She did really well. Need to get her moving as she likes to ā€œpreserve her energy.ā€

Had fun at the canter. She gets sassy with her little head tosses and mini bucks.

Grooming is getting better. Sheā€™s still nervous around her chest, belly, and legs. But we can brush down her forearm, girth area, and hip/butt.

She started to darken up a bit as the season changes. She has such beautiful coloring. šŸ’•

Still has a high butt so thereā€™s more growing going on. It will be nice when sheā€™s calm enough for me to string test her. Iā€™m interested to see what she will top out at. Right now she seems to be close to 15h.

Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way.

After easily pushing Maya around when the two of them are together, Dream learned her lesson with the top dog. Donā€™t challenge Vega for the position of lead mare.

Got her ass kicked, literally.

As the swelling in her butt went down, gravity caused swelling in her leg.

Iā€™m so proud of this girl. She did so well this week learning how to stand while we cold hosed her leg every evening. Bonus points as this is her ā€œoff sideā€, and rear leg, which we havenā€™t really worked much with yet.

Swelling is coming down and no lameness. Sheā€™s doing great.

After winning Dream in auction we went searching for photos of her pre-round up and came across photos that Linda Hay of Run With The Wild Ones took at the holding facility.

From the photos we found, we discovered that she had been pregnant when she was rounded up in July 2022 and had her foal in the beginning of 2023.

Lillyā€™s getting closer and closer to being able to do Dreams feet!

This was her second session working with Dreamā€™s feet, and the first time working on her off side that sheā€™s nervous on. She did great! šŸ‘šŸ»

Some of the photos I snagged from the IA listing back in April.

No video available for her, which was good and bad. We couldnā€™t see if there would be anything off about her movements, but on the flip side, I think it may have steered other people away from bidding on her. šŸ˜

This page documents the journey of Eclipse Dream. A BLM mustang that was gathered from the Twin Peaks HMA in California on 7/25/2022 when she was just two years old.

Formerly tag # 6495, she was adopted through the BLM internet auction in May of 2024.

Trainer Lilly Richardson of Heritage Horsemanship LLC, along with her husband, and future adopter, Jenn McGroary, drove down to PA in June 2024 to pick her up and bring her back to CT.

We will continue to share her story with you here. šŸ„°

Best session yet. I let Dream run around and get the sillies out of her system for a bit before settling down to work. She was very sassy.

We start off with fly spraying at liberty. She moves slightly, but doesnā€™t run away.

No need for the neck rope tonight. She allowed me to halter her without issue.

Lead her around the pen & she matched my speed.

Worked on some circles with hindquarter yields and change of direction.

Did a little work with the flag. Sheā€™s still nervous when it goes out of sight under her head and around her chest area. Getting better though.

Ended with a short grooming session, focusing on some work on her right (off) side. Sheā€™s still not super comfortable about that side yet, but weā€™re getting better.
