It's no secret that there is a HUGE over-population of unaltered cats. But through our partnerships with low cost spay/neuter providers Pasado's Safe Haven and Northwest Spay & Neuter Center, we are able to ensure that every cat adopted out of our shelter has received the care needed to help control this issue.

And thanks to donations from Friends at your Metro Animal Shelter, we are able to keep adoption fees as low as possible. Through their amazing support, our furry felines Mikey, Toffee, Cappuccino, Florida, Arizona, Jenna and Melvin all found loving forever homes! **The Shelter Dog Your Family Needs -- Meet Honeydew!**

Who doesn't need a dog like Honeydew in their home?!? She is sweet as sugar, a spoonful of playful, and a dash of devoted - and that is a perfect recipe for unconditional love!

And while she may not actually be able to bake muffins for you, just imagine how heartwarming it would be to have Honeydew as your cooking companion?!? And we are confident she would make an excellent kitchen floor crumb cleaner!

Honeydew is a 3 year old female terrier/lab mix, and currently available for adoption at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup. She definitely measures up as one highly adoptable dog and is ready to be scooped up today!

Thanks to the incredible turnout from our community in December, we had a record-setting month for adoptions at our shelter. AMAZING!!!! So many dogs and cats found loving homes, and so many people found loving companions.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving our sweet senior Wallace, our super snuggler Yeti, our playful pup Bohdi, our lovely lady Nala, and our magical mama Katie the gift of belonging. We are thrilled that they all found the very best families imaginable!

Our shelter dogs want you to know exactly why you need to adopt them, and how they can make your home life better. First up is our buddy Cedar, who would love to join your family's yard crew. Imagine springtime days ahead, spent living with this handsome guy and enjoying the green grass together.

Cedar is ready to mow a path straight out of the shelter to your home, and will plant himself firmly in your heart once you meet him. And who doesn't need a backyard buddy to help make your day feel extra sunny?!?

Cedar is a 5 year old male pitbull terrier, and currently available for adoption at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup. And while we make no guarantees on Cedar's lawn mowing skills or abilities, we certainly can attest that he'd look darn good in a pair of overalls!

**KITTEN CAM** First kitten cam of 2026 features a real party animal - this is one SUPER playful furball! With just a few more weeks until reaching age/weight benchmarks for adoption, this kitten is going through an important pre-adoption period of socialization and stimulation.

And thank goodness for our amazing team of volunteers to ensure they get extra love and playtime to get them adoption ready!
