Thank You, 2025 — Welcome, 2026! 🐾
As we celebrate the close of 2025 and step into 2026, all of us at Last Chance Ranch are filled with gratitude and hope. As we wrap up our 26th year of operation, we want to thank our incredible donors, volunteers, adopters, and community who make our lifesaving work possible. The past few years have brought challenges, but this year’s progress has been truly encouraging and reminds us why we do what we do every single day.
In 2025, together we celebrated 1,067 total adoptions—each one a life changed forever and a new beginning made possible because of you:
🐶 306 dogs
🐱 160 cats
🐴 49 equines
🐓 273 barnyard adoptions, including:
6 alpacas, 115 chickens, 32 ducks, 5 guinea fowl, 52 goats, 6 geese, 28 peafowl, 4 pigs, 22 sheep, 2 swans, and 1 turkey
🐹 276 small animal adoptions, including:
15 chinchillas, 4 cockatiels, 36 ferrets, 4 zebra finches, 153 guinea pigs, 34 hamsters, 1 macaw, 11 parakeets, 16 rabbits, and 2 fancy rats
🦎 3 reptile adoptions, including:
2 geckos and 1 bearded dragon
An increase of 160 adoptions over 2024 makes 2025 a powerful step forward and a hopeful sign after a few difficult years.
This year also marked the launch of our Defining the Future of LCR Capital Campaign, a transformative initiative that will secure a permanent home for Last Chance Ranch and expand our ability to help even more animals in need. We’re also deeply grateful for the support of our community partners and grantors including The Foxwynd Foundation DAF, The Tyler Foundation, and The Evelyn and Josephine Smith Foundation, whose generosity provided nearly $100,000 in medical care funding, directly improving the lives of animals in our care.
While adoptions are improving, the need for help has never been greater. We receive dozens of pleas for assistance every day, and with an average capacity of about 150 animals, our resources are constantly stretched. Fundraisers and programs help—but it is your continued support that keeps our doors open and our mission moving forward.
As we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026, we are profoundly thankful for the animals we’ve saved, the lives we’ve touched, and the community that stands beside us. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to even greater success in the coming year as more animals find their forever homes.
From all of us at Last Chance Ranch, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to a compassionate, hopeful, and lifesaving 2026.
