Since 1999, Last Chance Ranch® has been a cornerstone of our community in Quakertown, PA. The kennel facility was completed in 2010.

Each year, LCR rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes well over 1,000 neglected or abandoned animals with the help from volunteers. Last Chance Ranch® (LCR) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization rescuing and rehabilitating equines, farm and domestic companion animals. LCR is dedicated to promoting and educating the public to humane and responsible treatment of equines, farm animals and other domesti

c companion animals including dogs and cats. LCR provides a safe and secure refuge for abused, unwanted or neglected animals. LCR rehabilitates the physical ailments of these rescued animals and places them into homes where they receive the love, attention and care they deserve. Our follow-up programs, educational seminars and clinics ensure their continued well-being. Last Chance Ranch was founded in 1999 as a 501c3 non-profit equine rescue, focusing on slaughter-bound equines. In 2005, after assisting with the recovery efforts of Hurricane Katrina, LCR reorganized as a companion and farm animal rescue. A few years later in 2007, LCR expanded to 25 additional acres which allowed for additional barnyard animal enclosures and plans for a future kennel. Currently, LCR’s 35-acre facility has the ability to house more than 150 animals of all types. Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue is not affiliated with any other organizations. Last Chance Ranch has learned that there may be some lingering confusion among the public with respect to the former affiliation of Lori McCutcheon with LCR. The purpose of this announcement is to confirm that while Lori McCutcheon was the founder of LCR and continues to own the real estate where our facilities are located, she has not held a position within LCR since December, 2017. Since that time she has no authority to represent LCR or to hold herself out as having an ongoing affiliation with LCR. Many amazing vendors have been added for your holiday gift giving.

This is a kid friendly event. There is shopping for the kiddos and ornament painting for them as well.

We will also have a Giving Tree for donations for the animals at the ranch.

Plan for wait time if our event is busy. Your patience is appreciated.
Bring everyone in your household (including resident dogs if you are planning to adopt a dog).
Everyone in your household must be present to meet/adopt a dog.
Dress for the weather.

Now Hiring: Kennel Medical and Behavior Technician

Location: 9 Beck Road Quakertown, PA 18951

Part-Time | ~20 hours per week | Flexible Schedule, Must Be Available Every Other Saturday

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kennel Medical and Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our kennel staff, you will work closely with our health and behavior managers to evaluate and care for animals, helping them become ready for adoption. This role includes intaking new animals, assessing their medical and behavioral needs, and conducting adoption appointments to help find them their perfect match.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the intake of new animals and assess their medical and behavioral conditions
Collaborate with the health and behavior management team to evaluate animals and prepare them for adoption
Conduct adoption appointments, matching pets with potential adopters
Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members
Maintain kennel cleanliness and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all animals
Provide compassionate care and enrichment for the animals in our care

Qualifications:
Passion for animals, especially dogs, and a strong desire to help them find their forever homes
Experience in animal care or behavior evaluation is a plus (but not required)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team
Availability to work ~20 hours per week, including every-other Saturday
Physical ability to lift and care for medium to large-sized dogs as needed

🚨 Cute Puppy Alert 🚨 Carrie sure is cute, but unfortunately she has been dealt a rough hand. She arrived to our facility on Sunday and we immediately realized something was not right! Carrie is half the size of her litter mates (only 3.5lbs!) and would vomit every time she ate. We initially thought she has megaesophagus and scheduled her a vet appointment. After seeing the vet yesterday, Carrie was diagnosed with Persistent Right Aortic Arch which requires live saving surgery. PRAA is one of the most common vascular ring anomalies that often impacts German Shepherds, as well as other breeds. Surgery is required for a 92% successful recovery, otherwise Carrie cannot thrive and will need to be euthanized. She underwent the barium study and x-rays yesterday to diagnose her with Telford Vet. Currently, she needs to be treated as a megaesophagus puppy, so she does not aspirate on food again. On Monday, September 16th, she will see the cardiologist at Valley Central Emergency Vet, then she will get scheduled for surgery once she is fully recovered from her aspiration pneumonia. Her all in care is estimated to be $7000. We have an amazing matching donor who has put up an $8,000 match for Carrie and other medical expenses currently!
