We are getting bigger! We swarm our mama like a flock of vultures when she comes in the pen and we sit and cry at her when we see her outside the pen. We have tiny teeth coming in (mama does NOT appreciate that), and are getting ready to start real food to give poor mama a break. We love going outside in our new pen too! We are starting to tackle each other and roll and tumble and play ❤️. Our favorite thing is still snuggling with mama.

The daily array… mama is crazy protective of her pups and does not like people around. We think it is because of the loss of so many. She is afraid for her kids. She is turning into the amazing mama I knew she would be…kind, loving, gentle. She calls for them when they cry, and they come slithering over to her.

Today we are seeing our mama love come out. She has become attentive, protective, and loving toward her kids. She is licking them, nosing them, and generally letting them love on her and giving love back. So many sweet moments today.

It is with such a heavy heart that we laid to rest 6 beautiful pups today. We returned them to the earth with our hands full of love. Each one was named and held and loved by their humans and their mama. Kona took the time to lick each one and grieve the loss. Now that they are buried, she is focusing on her live pups. She is accepting them, and even gave one a lick today.

Such a beautiful reminder that although grief comes and it is oh so heavy, there are so many reasons to keep going… to push on for all the good things we still have right in front of us. Kona felt her grief. She is moving through her grief. Her world did not stop when her first baby was not still with us. Our family is feeling this loss so deeply, but we are choosing to focus on 9 beautiful puppies that have such beautiful lives to live.

Heaven, Ivy, Bean, Hot Chocolate, Millie and Natalia rest in peace little ones. You each have your own story. We know you are in dog heaven and will watch over us fiercely.

Kona finally gave birth to her 15th puppy at 4:57AM. Little girl was stillborn. We have 9 healthy pups and are so grateful Kona was able to pass the pup before a C-section. We need to work on her accepting her babies and being willing to feed them.

11 out so far… still waiting on the last 2-3. If they don’t come soon, we will head to the ER.

Meet Lincoln! This stud is a 20 month old, purebred, AKC, English Mastiff. He has been living in the same home as Mama since he was 13 weeks old. This gentleman is a lover and a snuggler. He enjoys long walks at the pond under the stars and playing tag or soccer with his kids. He also enjoys when his bestie paints his nails. Lincoln weighs 135 pounds, but is not fully grown yet. To date, he has had no medical issues. This boy is VERY food motivated and may throw some slingers at you while he waits for a handout. Lincoln has also been raised with the same kids, cats, and has been meeting people at Heart for Change Counseling Services Inc., since he was around 15 weeks old.

Kona is a 33 month old, purebred, AKC, English Mastiff. She has been raised in our home around 4 kids, some of whom have special needs. She also lives with 3 cats. Kona has been meeting people at Heart for Change Counseling Services, Inc, since she was 16 weeks old. Kona received in-house, hands on training from a local, professional dog trainer. Kona has not passed her official Therapy Animal certification due to her strong desire to play with every passing dog! Kona has always had a very mild, friendly demeanor, and is loved by everyone she meets. Kona loves her people and would do anything to protect them. She is also well-behaved, well-mannered, and overall a pleasant, docile pup! She is healthy and has had no medical issues so far.
