Someone told me you couldn't get an Akita to actively engage in a game with you. I told them "you just haven't found the right game." Bentley came to us without a clue on how to just be a dog and play. Three days into his board and train, I saw a slight interest. Now Bentley and his owner literally play with the flirt pole together until his owner calls the game. If he doesn't call the game, Bentley will literally go until he can't go anymore. This goes to show that you have to adapt to the dog and not always have the dog adapt to you. Always find a trainer who takes the time to understand your dog before they try to tell you what's "wrong" with your dog!
