Rescues like ours see so many dogs returned because the dog "suddenly" snaps at a child in the home. We'd like to remind all the parents out there (dog parents and parents of children) that it is up to you to teach proper interactions and monitor to make sure your kids and dogs are happy and safe together.

Some dogs may be more tolerant than others, but it's better to set the expectations that none of these behaviors are acceptable rather than run the risk of a situation turning dangerous.

Be responsible and be safe so your family (including your furry family members) can live happily together for many, many years!
