Lumi the 2-Yr-Old Chihuahua was Intentionally given a Life-Threatening Dose Of Methamphetamine. Tiny Chihuahua Lumi was fighting for her life after being forcibly given m**hamphetamine by a teenager in her home, which was filmed and posted on social media, and then left for dead at a local shelter. This sick act left Lumi’s body overtaken with tremors, However she is strong and survived!!!
The torture and abuse that has been inflicted on 1.5-year-old Chihuahua Lumi is beyond anything we could have imagined even in our worst nightmares. Lumi was recently dropped off at the Long Beach, CA animal shelter after being intentionally given m**hamphetamine by her owners’ teenage son. The entire horrific incident was filmed and posted on social media. By the time Lumi arrived at the shelter, she was suffering severe tremors and barely clinging to life.
As soon as Open Arms Rescue was made aware of Lumi’s situation, we wasted no time getting her directly to the vet and she was immediately admitted to the hospital for life-saving care. Lumi spent several days in the hospital receiving medication through an IV. As a result of this inexplicable act,

THE GOOD NEWS is that she has come a long long way in her recovery and her tremors have mellowed out substantially since the beginning when we first rescued her. She plays, runs, interacts w/other small dogs and loves to be cuddled and snuggled.
