I am trying really hard not to post about a local Bengal breeder. She used to be doing things the right way. But with 4 customers that went to her and are now taking my kittens, the BS is confirmed.

So,
If you ask for HCM reports and are sent one done by Laurel S Cain, DVM (a regular vet) on an HCM screening form, RED FLAG 🚩
[I have a copy of the report]

If you do not get to go in and sit on the floor and play with the kittens, RED FLAG 🚩

If you are told to sit on the couch, and the kittens are retrieved by the children, who then stretch the kittens out and you do not get to hold them, RED FLAG 🚩

If the kittens are not born yet and you ask to see HCM reports and are told "you will get those when you pick up the kitten" or "as we do not know which Mother you will choose a kitten from ... yadda yadda yadda" RED FLAG 🚩

If you buy a kitten who is not ESN'd, send the receipt and never get the TICA papers RED FLAG 🚩

BTW, this breeder USED to do ESN, she used to use my vet 😔 And with no ESN, no microchip is implanted.

Just a reminder to trim claws. "new" claws are even sharper under the sheath being shed. Nip the tips until you get comfortable with it. Do not go into the pink!!!

Eventually, they can look like this which are better for you and your furniture.

You STILL NEED scratching items - cardboard, sisal rope columns on a cat tree, etc.

Trim your cats claws REGULARLY!!! If you do, the quick (pink part/blood) moves back and you can trim more blunt.

If you have difficulty getting ht ecat to stay still: You can sit over the cat between your legs. Use feet as a back door. You can lean over to sort of block from running out/squeeze a bit with your legs. Can at least get fronts done.

Reminder to customers:

There is NO WAY to state that your cats are clear on ALL genetic issues.

Wisdom Panel tests for 50 things. It CANNOT test for HCM at all in Bengals as no mutations have been determined despite years of research. There are approx 12 mutations. This is why the Cardiology ultrasound is necessary.

OS can test for 1 (ONE) mutation in Maine C**n & Ragdoll. Due to the dozen genes, those breeds should have Cardio scans annually as well.

Ketamine reactions are quite a small group that react.
