One of our team members Jackie who is our resident cat whisperer and also volunteers at the Quincy Animal Shelter is currently fostering this cutie Storm!

Storm is 7 and she has a condition called feline eosinophilic keratitis so she'll need eye drops forever.

Jackie says storm loves to play and isn't super snuggly, but can be affectionate. Jackie is moving soon and will not longer have a designated foster room in her new place and is trying to avoid sending storm back to the shelter.

Jackie will be at the Quincy Animal Shelter with Storm today from 10-2!

Wishing everyone a fun and safe fourth of July!🇺🇸

Pi and Zemi are here to remind everyone that even though YOU may enjoy the festivities and fireworks, your furry family members may not! Here are a few tips to remember:

1. Keep your pets indoors/ leave your pets at home if possible!: Don't bring your pets outside during the fireworks! loud pops and booms could easily startle your pet and cause them to run away.
2. Provide a quiet place: prepare a place such as a quiet room, pet carrier, or crate to help them feel secure.
3. Give them distractions, toys, treats and soothing music: treat toys such as Kongs filled with their favorite food may help keep their minds busy and distract them from the fireworks.
4.Walk your dog earlier in the day: some pets may be too frightened to go out once the fireworks are popping and this will be a good way to tire them out so that they can rest better later.
5. Be aware of any party hazards that may be harmful: alcohol, party foods, charcoal, fireworks, sparklers, glow sticks, decorations, and toxic chemicals ( sunscreen, insect repellent, insecticides etc.)

Lastly make sure your pet has an ID or is microchipped!

Did someone say "treats”? No? Well, since we're on the subject, how about a treat?

Don't quote us on this, but today might be the very best day of the year so far. We can think of few things more worth celebrating than snuggly sweet puppies. I mean, how could you say no to a face like this?

What would happen to your dog in case of an emergency? Here's a simple hack! Use Canva to print out a business card with all the information an emergency responder would need to know to take care of your pup. Include something like this: Front: “My Dog is Home Alone! If I am sick or injured, please contact the individual listed on the back of this card to care for my dog at home.” Back: Primary contact person’s first and last name plus cell phone. Secondary contact person’s first and last name plus cell phone. Make sure that those two people have everything they need to get inside your home and know what to do for your pet. Think of medication instructions, feeding instructions, etc. What other information would you include?
