🐾 POLICY & AGREEMENT 🐾
I will be sending a link to all of my clients to my policy and agreement form so you can date and sign it for your file! In order to safely and smoothly run my business of pampering your uh-maaazing pups every day these policies have to be in place, so please read it through and if there are ANY questions feel free to reach out to me! Thank you so much everyone! 🤍
🫧 Health/Veterinary Care Release
Please let me know if your pet has any allergies to food, shampoos, colognes, or any health issues! You understand and agree that Puppy Love Grooming, LLC does not provide veterinary services. You understand that grooming can be stressful for your pet. You understand that Puppy Love Grooming, LLC is not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or death of or to your pet from conditions not disclosed to me that could be exacerbated by any grooming services.
🫧 Minor Accidents Release
Working with animals is unpredictable, and if a situation should arise where your pet has a minor accident or injury you hereby authorize Puppy Love Grooming, LLC to provide basic first aid to relieve the pain or stop any bleeding using a septic powder or other natural remedies. Please know that I would never purposefully put your pet in harm's way and will do everything possible to provide a safe grooming session. Minor accidents can occur during nail trimming, the use of shears, bathing, and shaving including shaving a severely matted coat. Basic first aid will always be applied upon these minor accidents or injuries and once contained, you will be notified immediately. You hereby release Puppy Love Grooming, LLC from any unrelated injuries that occur outside of your pet's service.
🫧 Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization Release
If an emergency should arise, I will notify you right away and take your pet to the nearest veterinarian clinic (Autumn Hills Veterinary Clinic - 5312 Sheridan Lake Rd. #107 Rapid City, SD 57702) if they cannot wait for you. In the event that Puppy Love Grooming, LLC incurs any costs, fees, or expenses arising from, or relating to, your pet’s need for veterinary care during your pet’s grooming appointment, being that they are unrelated to incidents during your pet’s service, you will promptly reimburse Puppy Love Grooming, LLC for the same upon request.
🫧 Senior Pets (age 10+ years) Release
My priority when working with senior pets is to make their spa day as pleasant as possible! My policy with seniors is grooming for comfort, not to look 100% perfect. You understand that grooming can cause stress that can exacerbate or expose new problems, or even lead to a serious medical event or death in senior pets. You release Puppy Love Grooming, LLC from liability should any problem/medical issue occur that is unrelated to minor accidents that may occur during your pet’s service. If it becomes necessary, I will stop the groom
🫧 Pregnant or In-Heat Females Release
Because grooming a pregnant pet is not a standard practice and can cause stress that can exacerbate or expose new problems such as early labor and miscarriage, I do not groom pregnant pets. It is recommended to wait at least 14 days after they have given birth to schedule a bath or grooming appointment to ensure there are no complications postpartum. Dogs in heat may come in for their spa day as long as they aren't excessively bleeding. It is typically advised to wait until they are close to the end of their cycle to schedule services. Please bring clean pet diapers with you for your pet’s groom! You release Puppy Love Grooming, LLC from liability should any problem/medical issue occur to pregnant or in-heat pets.
🫧 Flea Policy
If I spot fleas upon arrival, you will be asked to leave and return once your pet has been treated. If I find fleas after you have left, your pet will be given a flea bath and the cost will be added to your total ($15-$30). I take the safety and the health of my personal pets and my client's pets' very seriously! I thoroughly disinfect my workstation between clients to ensure contamination does not occur.
🫧 Shaving Double-Coated/Short-Haired Breeds Release
It is my professional recommendation that double-coated or short-haired breeds should not be shaved. Double-coated breeds rely on their undercoats to help protect them during cold weather and can be naturally and safely removed during warmer weather on a regular grooming schedule with a de-shedding treatment. A dog’s undercoat typically regrows within 4-6 weeks and it is recommended to schedule a de-shedding service before your pet’s undercoat becomes impacted or matted. Shaving their top coat exposes their skin to harmful sun rays causing them to be at a higher risk for sunburn, skin cancer, a serious medical event, or even death. For the dog’s safety and protection from the sun and skin cancer, I reserve the right to refuse any unnecessary shave-down for double-coated or short-haired breeds unless required for medical reasons signed and approved by a licensed pet veterinarian. If an agreement is made to have your double-coated or short-haired breed shaved for any reason, you understand that Puppy Love Grooming, LLC is not liable for any illnesses or medical treatment that may arise from my service.
🫧 Severely Matted Pets Release
The safety and comfort of your pet is always my top priority! A pet’s coat that has not been attended to for a long period of time and developed matting may become extremely sensitive and incur clipper marks, abrasions, rashes, nicks, itchiness, or redness. I will not brush through severe matting as it can be painful and could cause further injuries, so I will always suggest a shave down so their hair can regrow and we can start over and get your pet on a regular grooming schedule to keep up on their growing coat and to avoid matting. You as the owner agree to in no way hold Puppy Love Grooming, LLC responsible for any problems resulting from the grooming of your matted pet. Additional charges on top of regular grooming fees will apply to pets that are severely matted.
🫧 Behavioral Issues Release
Any pet showing an unruly amount of aggression may be refused service. Safety is priority (your pets included). It is your responsibility to disclose if your pet has a known history of biting or aggression. If I accept to groom any animals with behavioral issues, charges will be set in accordance with their behavior if I feel necessary. In the grooming process, every effort is made to make your pet as comfortable as possible. I do not muzzle or heavily restrain your pet unless completely necessary for safety. If your pet is behaving badly, attempts to bite, or is uncooperative, the groom will not continue, and full-service payment will be due upon pick-up.
🫧 Weight Restrictions
No matter how much I love your gentle giants, I am unfortunately not able to groom pets over 80 lbs. Existing clients with pets heavier than 80 lbs. who have remained on my schedule are exempted from this policy. Existing clients with pets who may gain weight over time and exceed 80 lbs. will be reevaluated on a case-by-case basis whether services are able to continue.
🫧 Drop-off Procedure
I provide by appointment one-on-one services solely for the comfortability and safety of your pet. On the day of your appointment, you may arrive up to only 5 minutes early than your appointment time slot as I may still be with another client’s pet, on my break, or preparing and sanitizing my station for your pet. Please park in my driveway during drop-off, I will always leave plenty of space for you. I live in a neighborhood with other people/dogs around, therefore, for your pet's safety, they must be on a leash, carried, or brought in a crate when you arrive. If I am not readily available to greet you, please text me upon arrival. If you don't have service and cannot text me, I will always come outside to greet you at your scheduled appointment time, so please do not ring my doorbell, knock, open my door, or honk your car horn.
🫧 Late Arrival Policy
I will text you if you are more than 5 minutes late for your appointment to see if everything is okay and get an estimated time when you will be arriving. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we may have to reschedule your appointment. Please see the cancellation policy below for more details.
🫧 Pick-Up Procedure
I will give you 30 minutes notice prior to your pet's completion of service and they MUST be picked up within 10 minutes after their groom is completed as I may have a client immediately after you and only accept one client at a time. If you are not able to pick up your pet at time of completion please let me know during booking so I'm aware and arrangements can be made. When you arrive for pick-up, please do NOT attempt to enter my home/garage and please stay in your car until I bring your pet out to you. Due to business insurance and liability, you are not allowed to be in or near my workstation during your pets grooming services for any reason. Furthermore, if your pet were to see you before completion of their grooming service, they could become overly excited or anxious when they see you and that can be dangerous if I am still completing any finishing touches with my blade or shears as my equipment is sharp and can cause an unnecessary injury. If there is an emergency that puts you in a situation where your pet needs to be picked up before services are complete, please CALL ME ahead of time, so that I can safely prepare your pet for pick-up. Emergency incomplete services will still need to be paid in full at pick-up however an appointment to finish your pets groom can be rescheduled at no additional cost to you.
🫧 Cancellation Policy
My system will send you an automatic text reminder 24 hours prior to your appointment. Cancelling within 24 hours of your appointment will result in 50% of the quoted amount being owed prior to scheduling your next appointment to serve as a cancellation fee. If you cancel or reschedule several appointments over the course of a few months you will be required to pay a 100% nonrefundable deposit for future appointments, or refused future service.
