🟢About Them: Not much history on these little ones! Initially they were staying with me until we could find them a foster home but with how hectic everything has been we decided that they would just stay with me until adoption, which of course I have no issue with, I mean look at them! All I know is their siblings mysteriously passed and these were the 2 that were left. They’ve been with me for about a month now. Tooth is SUPER friendly but Crown is more on the shy end for the first like 20 minutes of meeting anyone (even if you’ve met her a million times already). They’re growing big and strong with every passing day!

We are fundraising for a enclosure so in the future I can take on kittens like Egg Sheeran and have a safe place to have them recover and quarantine like when he had Calicivirus 😖! Welcome Posey!🎉

🟢About Them: Posey was with another foster being bottle raised, I received her as a hand off on June 16th! I thought I already introduced her but apparently didn’t 🌚. Posey is about 2 months old but like everyone else I have she is way too small for her age. I got her at weaning time but when she started weaning, it must’ve triggered something internally because this AWFUL coccidia smelling goo just LEAKED OUT OF HER 24/7. After 2 rounds of meds she seems to be better 😮‍💨 and is now gaining beautifully and well! She is Eggs pen mate to get them both to stop biting 🙃 Ps. Last photo is my favorite

Egg Sheeran is doing AMAZING!!! He’s been eating up all the foods he’s been very generously given and even is nearing ONE POUND. When I brought home this little scraggly thing I didn’t see it ending well, he was just so strangely formed and I remember the first 3 days of having him he wouldn’t do anything. He just slept day in and day out. Today, he RUNS around the room like a maniac, a mad man even.

🟢About Them: Not much info is known on this little lady, however she is about 7 weeks old and weighs as much as a 3-4 week old. If you’ve been keeping up with my sick kitty crew you know that pretty much every kitten I have right now is in the same boat of being extremely small for their age, so of course I said yes to taking on this little one. She’s a little bit on the spicy side, and while I normally don’t take on socializing cases since they’re easier to place, she needs around the clock care and monitoring for weight and her minor URI, which I guess evens out the field Lol

Welcome that one 90s show, Horsin’ Around! Bojack Horseman and Sarah Lynn! 🎉

🟢About Them: Found in a bush with other kittens of all ages, these poor guys were covered in fleas and some of the biggest hot messes out there. Diarrhea galore. Crusty. Crusty. CRUSTY. They’ve got urine scalding everywhere. Chances of them having some more serious infection or virus is very possible with all their vomiting and diarrhea but hopefully it’s just the usual “I was solely on moms milk and now I’m abruptly weaning” diarrhea. They are staying in another room instead of the main foster room. I’m hoping to save up for another (smaller) CLP playpen so I can confidently take on cases like this in another room without them potentially infecting everything around them. They did get snap/parvo tested and it all came back negative, but if you know kittens you know sometimes the results mean NOTHING cause kittens systems do what they want Lol. I was a little hesitant to name them Bojack and Sarah Lynn cause yk… what if they didn’t make it 😬 Sarah Lynn specifically is a REAL hot mess who I swore died yesterday (just looked dead). An unfortunate fitting life based on their names. But if they persevere and make it, it’ll be the happy ending we all wanted from that show..!

Look how big the Gilmore Girls have gotten!! They were like 100 grams I swear just yesterday, now everyone is almost (or already) 2lbs?!

Lorelai (the LONG haired orange girl) has already been reserved for adoption. Guess who’s adopting her? The ARL groomer! Which is truly the best fit, most people get a long haired kitten not realizing how much work actually goes into them as they get older. I’m glad she gets to go home in a couple weeks to someone who not only runs a grooming salon but also does grooming for the organization she’s from! So excited!

Emily and Rori Gilmore still have no interested adopters but they’re so gorgeous I’m sure as soon as they hit the public floor they’ll be swiped up in no time!

Let’s talk orphaned neonatal kittens!

Well, what IS a neonatal kitten? Neonatal kittens are kittens under 4 weeks old. Personally I do not consider a 4 week old to be neonatal since if you can eat slurry/pâté, you’re not a newborn 🤷!! So 0-3 week olds is what I would count as neonatal as they require around the clock care (Vs. a 4 week old who can go nearly an entire night without a meal).

While some kittens are actually orphaned, we see a LOT of “orphaned” kittens come in the shelter every kitten season. The majority of kittens being kit-napped. Unfortunately, without the founder giving mom cats information/whereabouts, we hardly ever find mom cat to reunite them and in turn the kittens have to be raised by foster parents. Some having to be fed every hour. Yes, even overnight.

It can be really frustrating when you see a healthy plump baby come in because you know they have a mom cat out there; but sometimes that’s not always the case. Sometimes mom was killed or isn’t able to care for their babies for whatever the reason may be. While this can be equally as frustrating, you just have to put your feelings on the back burner and focus on the little lives you have to keep alive; and it may not always be possible, but you can sure damn try.
Unfortunately, with only a handful of people willing to care for these vulnerable creatures, most shelters have to put them down at closing time if they aren’t picked up by fosters. Due to their intensive care (which once you get in the pattern of it, it really isn’t that bad), they cant afford to keep them in a cage overnight as they would just starve. So the most humane thing to do is put them down to avoid starving to death. Think this is cruel? Think this sucks? Well… it does suck, but if you’re just standing on the sidelines and not doing anything to help, you are part of the problem. You can foster, volunteer, donate, TNR, and more and that all helps equally as much as taking them on yourself.

I definitely wouldn’t be able to take on the kittens I do without each and everyone of you. From donating to kind words, that makes a difference.

A montage of walking in to Rori waiting very patiently 🥺

Waiting on my CLP pen to arrive so I can move these suckers out of the incubator and get some new tiny babies baking! The Belchers will be going back likely next week as they’re finally feeling better too! The Gilmores have also taken it upon themselves to just start eating dry food… when kittens hit 4 weeks old I always just leave dry food with them since sometimes they immediately take to it which makes weaning SOOOO much easier and all of them took to it like they’ve been doing it forever!!! I gave them some wet food to see if they wanted to start weaning and they did :,) I always let my kittens wean when they want instead of forcing them (well sometimes if you have an 8 week old who still only wants bottle, y’a gotta do what y’a gotta do). Kitten led weaning is always so different each time and these big kids had something to prove haha. Even though they’re weaning and healthy, I still won’t be introducing them to the kittens on the foster room floor since I don’t want them trying to feed off of the moms or getting bullied by the bigger kids. So they’ll most likely stay a trio until adoption

Molly came into the shelter in 2022 after her owner unfortunately passed away. Scared and confused, she completely shut down. When Molly arrived she was also 25lbs, it was no surprise that she’d do best in a home environment— that’s where foster homes come in! Not only did it give her a chance to truly express herself and show that she’s actually a pretty confident silly cat, it also gave her the opportunity to lose some of the weight that’s been diluting her personality. Molly is now currently 18lbs and available for adoption! She gets along with other cats and dogs as long as they understand her space. She loves to just watch tv (and yes, actually watch and paw at characters!) and play in a corner by herself! She will need a home that can continue to help her on her weight loss journey and know that she may be shy for the first couple days.

Welcome Cozy Glow!! 🎉

Cozy Glow was given to me to be hopefully put in with the WonderBolts litter since they were all around the same age, however Spitfire can be on and off with wanting to feed her babies so Linda (from the Belchers litter 🍔) took her on!

Cozy came to me around 2days old ish with her umbilical cord still hangin on so I’m going to give a good guess on her birthday being April 12th! She is now always 200grams and doing amazing everyday. And even though her new littermates are almost triple her size, she has absolutely no issue fighting for a spot on the milk bar!

Kitten Shower 2023

What an amazing get together!! I met so many of my foster friends and past adopters! I loved chatting it up with strangers about my not so little babies and seeing all the little kids light up when they got to pet them 🥹 sooo many potential foster parents yet to come 👀!!

The Valentine litter has gone in for surgery today and will more than likely be up for adoption tomorrow! Or at least sometime this week if all goes well. Valentine himself does have an interested adopter but everyone else doesn’t!

I also took in some cute little faces… while originally I was just teasing and bothering my coordinators about the babies, they surprisingly said I could take them 🤭 can’t wait to introduce them and tell you more ❤️

Can you believe how big Evangelina is?!?! All that food is definitely helping them grow big and strong ❤️ Since coming back, the Valentine Litter is on their 3rd case of wet food, THEY ARE BIG EATERS!!! That’s 60 cans or ~230oz of wet food. And this is JUST for the 4 kittens; nevermind the 5 other adult cats!

I was going through old videos and photos (my phone storage is full once again) and came across this gem :,) my little Cindy-Lou-Who from September of 2021.
