While we were out feeding the Athens colony earlier today, we noticed yet another injured cat limping across the parking lot. We quickly ran home to get a trap but we were not able to catch her. She let us get pretty close to her and was crying nonstop begging for help, but we could not risk trying to grab her by hand. She has what looks like a swollen, probably infection-filled wound on her neck as well as some missing hair and possible wounds on her hind end. Unfortunately it is likely she was attacked by an animal, and in cases of feral cats that have bite wounds, a lot of the time our only realistic option is humane euthanasia. But at least she would not be suffering anymore. We will be going back out tomorrow to try and find her again. If we do catch her we are going to need donations for her vet bill even if it’s just a euthanasia. We are not even 1/4 of the way through this colony and are already thousands of dollars deep. ‼️911‼️ EMERGENCY RESCUE IN PROGRESS ‼️ At the colony where the Cinderella kittens came from we were informed one of the other older kittens has been critically injured. Last time we were there we didn’t see him but today we went and he was there. He’s hiding under cars and won’t come close to us but he’s also so severely injured and covered in infected necrotic wounds and even from 10 feet away the smell of infection is absolutely overwhelming. This kitten is not going to make it if we don’t catch him today, and even then there’s a good chance he’s going to need to be put to sleep to end his suffering. But whatever happens he will have to go to the emergency vet and we NEED donations. We are desperate. This kitten is suffering horrendously. Please please help us help him. Jetta was hospitalized at ACVH overnight. Her temp went down yesterday with supportive care but then kept going down all the way to 99°. When we got her to the vet it was back up to 101, but she hadnt been able to stand, eat, or drink, all day and she was clearly very sick so they decided to keep her. At the emergency vet on Sunday they noticed a small bruise on her inner ear, and whatever it is seems to be leaking discharge now. I’m not sure if it’s an abscess or infection or what. They’re switching her antibiotics and have her on an IV. I’m not sure how long she’s gonna need to stay. This morning her fever was back up, but she was standing and alert as you can see!

Jetta has a 106° fever today. The emergency clinic is closed and our regular vet can’t see her until 440pm. We have ice packs on her and got her temp down to 105.3 but that’s still extremely high. If she gets any worse I’m gonna have to try to see if I can find transport for her all the way to latham for their 24hr emergency vet. Willow goes so apesh*t for falling leaves and there’s a ton on my porch so I tried to make it rain for him and to thank me he tried to unalive himself (disclaimer: he fell like one foot into a bush and clung to it until I reached him and then he climbed up my arm to get back inside. He’s totally fine)
