It’s that time of year when we, raw feeders, stock up on turkey, cuz it’s cheap! Yay! However, please read the label, many brands are adding sugar and salt! So stock up wisely my raw feeding friends! This amount of salt isn’t bad for us once a year but as a diet for our pets it’s too much, not worth the low price.

Ever notice those dark stains under some dog’s eyes? Those can be a sign of a few things, one being a non-ideal nutrition plan. Being a white dog Pippin is a great example of how powerful diet is, he hasn’t had his face washed in 2 weeks. When he came from his first owner his stains were very pronounced, he was on kibble. That all changed when he started eating a fresh food diet that was tailored to him.

Today is Akasha’s 16th birthday! We made “cupcakes”! Ground venison with duck egg, pumpkin, and baked in a mini cupcake pan. “Frosting” is instant mashed potatoes hydrated with beef broth, and colored with spirulina powder! Birthday fun!!

A little whole milk plain yogurt, healthy fat, protein, probiotics and best of all, you can find it as low as $0.09 per ounce. Feeding this way is not the cheapest so it’s nice to have some ingredients that help relieve some of the costs.
