If you are concerned you may need to evacuate from your area due to the Park Fire, some things to prepare in case you need to board or travel with your pet are: your identification, their vaccination records, an identification collar, a recent photograph, a pet carrier, crate or kennel, some blankets, bottled water, dishes and food.

Like so many other businesses globally, we have been impacted by the Microsoft IT outage and are experiencing technical difficulties at this time. Arthritis in pets is a common condition, affecting over 60% of middle-aged and older dogs and cats. Common causes of arthritis include degenerative changes (wear and tear), joint trauma (such as a cruciate ligament tear), infection and autoimmune disease.

Pets with hereditary joint disease, such as hip dysplasia or patellar luxation, are at increased risk of developing arthritis.

It was great seeing Lucy this week. She came in for a Victory Visit to work on overcoming her fear of the weight scale. With some encouragement and treats from her mom and our staff, she's made great strides and has been so brave. Great job Lucy!

Today is National Fluoride Day! We want to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of dental care for pets.

At least 80% of dogs over the age of 3yrs have active dental disease, and over 50% of cats above the age of 4yrs suffer from some form of dental disease.

We recommend brushing your pet's teeth daily and regular dental cleanings throughout their lives to ensure their optimum health and quality of life.,

This week was Veterinary Reception Appreciation Week!
While we love these guys year round, they deserve a spot light on how fabulous they are in helping your pets and being a pillar in the VCA Care team!
Kristen, Laura, and Dani are the first faces you see when coming in for services with us, and the last when checking out. They communicate your needs and questions to the team and are our frontline in communicating your pets' next steps to you. They answer our phones, set our schedule, obtain and maintain patient records, keep our lobby clean and inviting, booking boarding stays, process prescription and food refill requests, relay medical information, build and go over quotes, and so much more. From calming worried pet parents to stealing puppy kisses, these 3 have our front end handled and we couldn't thank them more. 💙
Next time you're in for our services be sure to show them some love from across the counter because we our team couldn't run without them!
