Very informative video about active power correction factor. ReeFi always use higher end power supplies with active power correction factor (PF > 0.9) to eliminate wasted reactive power at grid.

ReeFi LED firmware v4.36 released. There are 2 new features:
1) Add ReeFi Cloud server for backup settings.
2) Auto static IP Address.

Many have requested force static/reserve ip address in the past. Basically when ReeFi connects to a WiFi Router, the router assigns an IP Address on a lease. Once lease is up, the router may assign a different IP Address. I always felt to leave that to the WiFi Router's DHCP server's reserve IP capability to prevent complication such as duplicate ip address or inaccessible ip address on wrong subnet. To help those unfamiliar with WiFi Router settings, I'm testing an elegant behind the scenes implementation for automatic static ip address without messing with the WiFi Router's menu settings. I should be releasing this firmware update very soon.

ReeFi LEDs Firmware v4.35 released to allow for non-integer timezone value for locations that need half a hour increments. Example, +10.5 timezone for Adelaide Australia. I always assumed timezones are in 1 hour increments. Learned something new every day.

Got a little reef drama today...

So I got a customer that emailed me for some replacement screws because apparently there are some rust on the screw head. Ok, no big deal, I'm happy to send replacement screws, so I emailed him for pics of the screw head so I know which screws to send him. I got no response, so I figured he must have either resolved it by getting replacement at his local hardware store or no longer a concern. A week and half goes by, he filed a PayPal dispute to reverse the entire charge because of a couple screws. This makes me feel like he's trying to scam me which gets me a little pi**ed. I know I can get it resolved with PayPal but now money is on hold for a few weeks. Digging around PayPal dispute tools, now I found out PayPal will charge a dispute fee no matter if there's merit or not. If anyone dispute to chargeback without communicating with me first, I will blacklist them from future ReeFi purchases.

A generic "meh" Indo gold torch coloring up and growth under ReeFi Uno 2.0 Pros for 10 months. Tentacles shorten after months of acclimation to much stronger PAR intensity.

ReeFi Uno 2.0 Pro quick comparison of spread vs side glares.... Display tank is 6ft x 2ft x 2ft.

1 Uno2 Pro using 120degs vs 90degs reflectors.

3 Uno2 Pros with 120degs reflectors vs 8 Uno2 Pros with 90degs reflectors. Probably should have compared with 4 Uno2 Pros with 90degs reflectors but don't want to rearrange the lights for this quick comparison.

Noticed that with 90degs reflectors there are no side glares so can barely tell Uno2 Pro are on.
