So….we held a little contest Springdale Pet Ranch and Sparky just didn’t fit his name, so the employees threw their suggestions in a hat and VOILA! Sparky is now cool, calm & collected NIKO!

He’s sure a stunner too, from his nose to his toes this 2.5 yo fella is sophisticated charm. He’s so easy going & easy to handle, he loved our trip a couple weeks back & sat quietly at my feet while sharing a cheese plate!

Come over to meet him Wolff Vineyards tomorrow, treat yourself to a guided pack walk through the beautiful vines with our host Clint!

Enjoy a relay course and training tips with trainers from who’ll be serving Shamrock ☘️ Pup-Shakes & have a glass of world famous Chardonnay or a delicious red 🍷

Niko & so many of our other rescue trained dogs would love a home with you & to join you on your springtime adventures!

Re-introducing: NIKO!! Our sweet rescue boy Sparky's name just didn't fit his personality, so we came up with a new name for this relaxed, adorable boy. 💙

Niko is a two-year-old Husky with a beautiful grey fur coat and two different colored eyes. He is extremely dog friendly and LOVES to play. Niko is calm for a Husky and would make someone an excellent running partner, hiking partner and outdoor partner. Niko is smart, sweet and just the perfect Husky! He's bonded a lot with Blaze, one of the other rescues, and would LOVE to either get adopted with him, or into a family with another fun friend to hang out with. 🐾🐶

If you're interested in meeting Niko, PLEASE submit an application on gonetothedogsrescue.org!!

Yes Spike, you’re allowed on the bed 🥹 he’s coming around on the house training, we’re still training him and so far he’s learning fast. Spike is sleeping through the night in his own crate, he’s very good with all other dogs, little & big. He’s very confident on the leash & a Pomeranian definitely through & through, he’s trying out for the US team on the Olympic high jump, he bounces so high he actually jumps up in my arms 🤷🏻‍♀️ not sure if he was taught that or I’m just so exciting for him to be around !

This sweet pumpkin is so fearful of being a dog 🥺 was rescued while on our project. . Corinna’s owner was standing in line with a truck tie down used as a leash. He was waiting to surrender her & her sister, Gizmo. He didn’t give a reason, but when we saw their conditions, our hearts broke. Both girls suffered from malnourishment, skin lesions, hair loss, 3 inch nails, and very poor dental health. Flea infested & terrified, our volunteer acted fast & offered to rescue them. We quickly learned both littles were used for breeding and are about 2-3 yrs old. Now the path to healing also starts an emotional journey. I have to remember that dogs are resilient & they don’t feel the same emotions we do. Leadership is love to a dog. So I’m careful not to project my feeling on to her, treat her like a baby, or allow her to use me as a “safety crutch”. I’m allowing her to get comfortable & learn from the other foster dogs & Betty on her own terms. Be inquisitive about the goings on in the house. She is doing a great job. She understands where to potty, sleep & eat. Now we’ll work on confidence & socialization. This babe is going to always be shy, and that’s just fine. She’s a good, quiet, easy to handle girl. Rescue is so dam heartbreaking sometimes, but also rewarding ❤️ If a dog needs time to decompress & absorb their current situation….let them.
