Some very high-quality fish were weighed in — including Hamachi, Yellowtail, White Sea Bass, Calico Bass, and Sheepshead. Outstanding catches for our local waters!

A big thank you to all our sponsors for making this event possible.
Looking forward to many more great meets ahead!

I’m torn between this, and wondering where that GWS that charged me came from every time I dive there!!!!😳😬😂

This is a pretty common issue whenever bad ted tides are present, and if you like to harvest shellfish locally, OC/ LA areas, I would recommend not taking any for food until you are seeing overall water quality improvement.
For us, domoic acid is not a huge risk, we do not in general ingest enough to make us seriously ill, but it most certainly can help you with intestinal mayhem……😂 and some pretty lousy feeling days.
Sea lions end up dying because nearly everything they eat is carrying high levels of concentrated domoic acid when the red tide blooms cook off.

Toxic levels of domoic acid were detected in mussels in San Diego County.
