✨ Meet the Herd ✨

Meet Goose! Goose came to our lesson program this spring. After a few months of time off to just be a horse, he slowly started working on the ground before being worked under saddle. Once tense and tight, this boy now has the floppiest lower lip in the barn! His favorite treats are peppermints, and after having one, he’ll lick you for hours. His calm disposition and slobbery snuggles make him a barn favorite for many ❤️

✨ Meet the Herd ✨

Meet Blaze! Blaze is the backbone of our riding program. At 24 years young, he still loves his job taking care of riders and teaching them the foundations of horsemanship. He knickers when he hears his name and his face lights up the barn. He holds a lot of “firsts”- whether it’s their first time grooming, first ride, first canter, first jump, or first love- he’s happy to be the first for anyone who asks.

Meet Libby! Libby is a 5 year old Off the Track Thoroughbred. Even though she didn’t formally race, she still trained at a young age, which puts a lot of strain on their bodies. Libby came to us when she was 3 years old after already having post-race training in hunters and trail riding. A few months under saddle told us that something was wrong, though, so we went to the vet. She had kissing spine (when there isn’t sufficient space between vertebrae) and we opted for surgery. She still wasn’t right after some rehab, so she went out to the field for the year. She may not have had enough let-down time (time after racing to decompress and just be a horse) and it seems that’s just what she needed! This fall she’ll come back into work and we can’t wait to watch her flourish!

✨ Meet the Herd ✨

Meet Mila! Mila came to us when Mind Aligned was still just a dream. She came from an auction where she had been left after pulling carriages and having babies for the Amish. Pregnant with Roo when she arrived, she didn’t even know what a treat was when we tried to feed her *gasp*!

She is now our resident beginner horse and trail riding extraordinaire. Steady and sure of herself- Annie jokes that if she had to ride a horse into battle, she would choose Mila. Her favorite treat is… literally anything!! She loves to eat grass, go in the water, and stand in front of her fan on a hot day. We thank her for all she does!!

We’re so lucky to have such wonderful vets in our corner!! During spring shots day, Dr Frazier discovered an old abscess in our new horse Goose’s upper lip (a very sensitive area!). Today he went in for Dr Cardona to open it up and clean it out. He’s back home and hopefully much more comfortable now!
